Water Phoenix
The blue, blue sky is calling me:
Fly, fly; come let us fly
Beyond the city smog,
Above its noise and clog,
In to my airy bosom.
Together, far away, we'll fly
Across green valleys and mountains high.
We'll cross the wheat farms and winding rivers
Until we reach the sea, beyond
The deserts, just as blue.
Far, far away I'll fly,
Where nothing comes between us, save
My reflection in you, clear and pure, and blue.
Flowing through the timeless ocean,
Flying through the seamless wind,
My heart leaps with joy
To see the waves so high;
The surf, the splash, the salt, the sun
All so clear, so blue beyond the horizon;
Nothing restricts my sight anymore.
I'll jump with the dolphins
Race the seagulls
Skip among the fish
I'll sing with the mermaids
And teach the penguins how to fly
When night falls,
The moon shines so bright, so clear
It pierces the heart of darkness
And falls like rain
On the deep blue sea…
Then fairies descend on an island wild,
And dance among the midnight trees.
I shall dance with them too
And share their silver fairy light,
While you shall watch over me
As I watch now from my window sill,
From day to night and night to day,
Waiting to be born again
With wings to fly to that airy bosom,
Your sunshine moons and starry mists.
I wait to be the Water Phoenix,
From my burning ashes still.
