Disclaimer: I do not own Doritos, Levi's, Kings of Leon, or anything else one might recognize.
Kingsley Summers was one godly-looking man.
I mean, how can you not love shaggy, surfer beach blonde hair, 6'3" of the leanest muscle you will ever set your eyes on, and the killer smile of the generation?
Apparently, you can't not love that.
I ogled at him with narrowed eyes, concealing myself with my history textbook. He'll never find out that I'm stalking him with my steely green eyes.
"Why are you staring at Kingsley like you want to jump his bones?"
I jumped vertically 5 feet into the air, startled. I dropped my book with a ridiculously loud thump. That fucking bitch.
I glanced up, with wide eyes. Kingsley's buddies were nudging him from the sides and nodding towards me. I sensed a smirk curling on his perfect lips before his sparkling hazel eyes landed on me.
I squeaked, and my eyes widened even further.
I spun around, preparing to beat the crap out of whoever scared me. I breathed angry steam out of nose and narrowed my eyes. It was none other than my best friend, Becca Thomas.
She blew a sheer pink bubble in my face, obviously amused by my behavior. Her childish blonde pigtails hung loosely on her shoulders. Her freckles appeared to pop out, contrasting with her grey and pink cardigan. Her lengthy, curly eyelashes batted at me. Her appearance made my medium length brown hair and green eyes appear unpleasantly plain.
"Becca," I greeted her through gritted teeth.
She grinned cheekily. "How's it going Marley?" she chirped. The nerve.
"If you don't mind, I'd like to speak with you outside the classroom," I hinted by nodding towards the door leading outside the classroom.
"Well, Mar, considering the time, I don't think it's a good idea. The bell's going to ring any minute," she replied, obviously oblivious to my mood.
I paid no mind to her words. Instead, I grabbed her arm rather roughly and lead her to the door. I passed by Kingsley, keeping my head down and avoiding eye contact. I swear, I could feel his eyes on me as I passed through. Goosebumps rose from the dead on my skin.
Once we exited, I smacked her across her arm.
"Ow!" she yelped.
"That's," I said pointing accusingly at her, "for blowing my cover."
"How could I have blown you cover if I didn't know what you were doing?" she shot back.
"You knew damn well what I was doing!"
"Uh, if you haven't noticed already, Mar, I'm not the brightest blonde in the box!"
She's a modest one, that Becca.
"First of all, you said it so freaking loud!" I said exasperated. "He could've heard!"
"Ah!" she smiled. "So you were staring at Kingsley Summers!"
"Damn it, Becca! Could you not speak so freaking loudly?!" I screamed at her.
"Yeah, Becca, could you not?" spoke an elderly voice.
I spun around and found the history professor glaring dangerously at both of us.
"Oh, uh, hey there Mr.—"
"Don't you two have class to get to?" he asked sternly.
I sighed and hung my head. He raised his eyebrows when we entered his classroom without another word.
I immediately heard snickers from the students, mainly from the guys in Kingsley's posse. Confident little ol'Becca strode into the classroom unfazed by their reactions. I sighed again; even though she may not have the brains, her confident and brave personality made up for it. I envied that from her.
"Now that everyone is present," the professor started, darting his eyes at me and Becca. I shrank back into my seat. "Let's get started on the lecture."
I actually took notes for once in that class. I did it all just to avoid a certain someone's stare.

It's been about two weeks since my little outburst outside the history room. I'm pretty confident that everyone has forgotten about it.
I was reading a book, sitting down in my usual seat and occasionally casting glances at Kingsley.
I read the last two paragraphs from the chapter and glanced up, only to realize that Kingsley was no longer standing where he usually stands. A puzzled expression morphed into my face.
"Hey."
I froze.
Only one certain person had that deep, husky masculine voice. Only one certain person.
I turned my head stiffly to the direction of the voice.
There he was.
Sitting right next to me.
I never knew that this day would finally arrive.
I was too caught up in this thought that I didn't realize that I was staring at Kingsley dumbly.
He waved his tanned hand in my face, recapturing my attention. A modest smile was on his lips. "Hey," he repeated.
I shook my head.
"Hey," I replied back bashfully and quickly turned my attention the meaningless words of the book in front of me.
Becca just happened to be conveniently absent today.
That was sarcasm by the way.
"Do you…" he started, his mere voice sending tremors of goose bumps up and down my body, "…have a pencil?"
My heart dropped, just a little.
"Y-yeah…" I replied, grabbing into my pocket and taking out the only pencil I owned and handed it to him.
He casted his trillion-dollar smile to me. "Thanks."
I nodded slowly, looking like an idiot, and watched him retreat to his friends.
Since I had no pencil, I couldn't take notes.
It seems that I have to find other ways to avoid his stare for the remainder of the class.

Ah, my favorite part of any ordinary college day.
Driving home to take a three hour nap.
I skipped like a child to my car, my books bouncing wildly in my backpack. I received a couple of stares, but I didn't care this time. I was in too much of a good mood to care.
I unlocked my door, threw my stuff in, and started the car. I immediately started jamming to Kings of Leon's "Closer".
As I was driving, I spotted a gas station and remembered that I needed gas for my car. I pulled over and began filling my car with gas. I crossed my arms over my chest, waiting somewhat patiently. Licking my lips, I glanced around my surroundings, finding a source of entertainment to keep me busy. I frowned when I found nothing. All there was a homeless bum sitting outside the entrance, appearing to be asleep with a cardboard sign on his lap.
When I heard the click, I put the guzzler in its rightful place and walked towards the shop to pay. I shot the dirty man snoozing on the curb a sympathetic look before entering. I grabbed a bag of Doritos. My mind kept darting back to the homeless fellow sitting miserably outside. I sighed. I do have a surplus amount of money carried with me…
I paid for the gas and chips and exited the shop. I stopped when I reached outside. The man was awake now, his hazel-colored eyes looking dazed and slightly sleepy. He had on a baseball cap, a worn-out red parka, a pair of holey jeans, and Levi sneakers. He had longish, curly brown hair which had…stuff sticking in the mass of wild curls. He was unshaven and had an ongoing goatee growing. I predicted that he was about…20 years old? He had a youthful-looking face, minus the long hair and goatee. I approached him slowly, reaching into my back pocket to grab the twenty. I was feeling quite generous.
When I was about 3 feet away, I stopped.
"Excuse me?" I said my voice clear and audible. I noticed that his sign read, "Jobless, college drop-out, girlfriend and son to support. Help?"
The man turned his head to look at me. His hazel orbs widened briefly before returning to his calm composure. He didn't say anything; he just stared at me which kind of freaked me out a little bit.
I cleared my throat awkwardly and just handed him the twenty dollar bill. He raised his eyebrows at it.
I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Okay, I know twenty dollars is a bit much to give away, but any smart homeless bum would take it and leave. So can you just take it? Twenty dollars can buy miracles," I said impatiently. My nap is waiting at home in my apartment.
He exhaled, hesitating. I was helping much; I was just waving the money around in his face like a fool.
Finally, he raised his hand, fingers open. He stopped short when he was a touch away from my own hand. I raised my eyebrows, confused about his hesitation. I thought about just throwing the twenty at the ungrateful—
He grabbed my hand roughly and pulled me down so that my face was level with his. And then his lips collided with mine.
I tried pulling away, disgusted, but his arms wrapped itself around me waist to pin me down so that I was basically straddling him. Then his hands trailed up my sides, to my face and caressed my cheeks gently, almost lovingly. I stopped trying to pull away when he molded his lips skillfully into my own. My eyes practically rolled to the back of my head. My eyes were slowly fluttering close, and I was gradually responding to his kiss when I remembered something.
I pulled away abruptly and slapped him hard across the face.
"Don't you have a girlfriend??" I exploded in his face.
He looked at me confusingly, his hazel eyes sparkling from the fluorescent lights.
"Oh my God, don't you have a son??" I reminded him.
He only looked even more confused.
"Have you no shame?!" I finished. I pushed myself off from his lap, threw the twenty at him and jumped into my car, eager to get away from him.
When I was pulling away, I watched him from my rearview mirror. He was standing up now, his hands in the pockets of his jeans. And he was smiling.
For a homeless guy, he had surprisingly white teeth.

I came to class the next feeling so…dirty. Just icky, just plain icky. I shuddered just thinking about the events that went down the night before.
"What's wrong with you?" asked Becca, her breath smelling sickly sweet of sugar. She curled her hair today and sported a pink ribbon on the side of her head. She wore a pink turtleneck and a denim miniskirt finished with a pair of silver heels.
"I may've done something nasty last night," I managed to choke out.
She wrinkled her nose and scrunched her eyes distastefully. "Oh, dear."
"I know," I whined.
"What did you do, now?" she accused, her eyes widening alarmingly. "Oh my God, you did not sleep with that pervert who lives on the floor above you, did you?"
"What? Are you crazy? No!" I nearly shrieked.
"Oh my God, oh my God, don't tell me that you made out with your sexy landlord!"
I felt like crying. "Oh, Becks, please don't make this worse than it actually is," I pleaded.
"Make what worse?"
Damn it.
It was him.
I gulped. "Nothing," I mumbled stupidly, a blush creeping on my cheeks.
"Hey Kingsley," greeted Becca, already calm.
Kingsley smiled warmly at her. "Hey there, Becca." He glanced at me. "What's wrong with your friend?"
"God knows what," she muttered, shrugging.
I squinted at Kingsley's cheek. It appears that there was minor bruise below his cheekbone. Becca noticed this too.
"Whoa, what happened to your face?" she asked.
He raised his eyebrows and placed his hand on his wounded cheek. Suddenly, a small, warm smile spread across his face.
"My friends forced me to do a dare last night," he replied
Becca raised her eyebrows. "Okay...that's it?"
"The girl of my dreams beat me up and accused me of cheating on a girlfriend that I didn't have in the first place," he answered almost quietly.
Becca scoffed lightly. "Okay…" she said slowly. "I don't understand why that would make you smile like you're on cloud nine."
His grin widened. "That's because I kissed her before she slapped me."
"Summers!"
Kingsley glanced over his shoulders. His friends were making mocking love-sick and kissy faces at him, all the while laughing like obnoxious retardates. Kingsley chuckled and rolled his eyes.
"Well I got to go. It was cool chattin' with you ladies," Kingsley said. He looked at me for a minute, smiling gently. Finally he winked and left to be with his friends. The small gesture sent butterflies to float around wildly in my gut, but at the same time, what he said bruised my heart a little.
Kingsley already had a girl of his dreams?
Once he was with his friends, acting just as obnoxious as they are, I turned my head away sadly. I pulled out my notebook and pencil, trying to get his words out of my head.
"You okay, Marley?" Becca asked, concerned.
"Never been better," I lied effectively.
"Okay…mind telling me what was bugging you earlier?"
"Nah," I said, "it doesn't really matter anymore."

Normally on Saturdays, I would be living it up with ice cream, movies, and studying and occasionally hanging out with Becca. But today, it was just hardcore studying. All I had to eat today was 2 granola bars and a bowl of cereal. Clearly, I was still upset from that one day when Kingsley confessed to being in love.
I sighed.
I needed to do more studying anyways.
Turning a page of my biology book, there was suddenly a knock on my door. I stared at the door confused. The person who ever came to my apartment was Becca, and she always called in advance before coming, and my parents live two states away.
I stood up from my desk and walked over to the door warily. I opened it slowly. When I saw who was standing behind it, my heart stopped.
Kingsley was wearing an army green hoodie and cargo pants along with a familiar pair of Levi sneakers.
"Kingsley?" I said, surprised more than anything. "What…what are you doing here?" Then my eyes widened. "How do you know where I live?"
Then horror stuck me.
I looked like crap, considering my mood for the past couple of days.
I was also not dressed for…this occasion. I had on my old middle school track and field t-shirt and plaid pajama shorts.
"Hey," he said. If I didn't know any better, Kingsley actually looked nervous. He was fidgeting side to side with his hands stuffed in his pockets. Either that or he was just cold and trying to create some body heat.
"Uh," I said awkwardly, "would you like to come in?"
He shook his head. "No, I actually just stopped by to return something."
I looked at him confusingly. "Return? What do you have that's mine?"
He took one of his hands out of his hoodie pocket and reached into his back pocket of his pants. He pulled out a twenty dollar bill.
What the…?
Hazel eyes, Levi sneakers, twenty dollars…everything clicked.
My eyes widened. "You're the douche who molested me in public!"
He smirked. He gently took a hold of my hand and placed the money on my palm.
"I just came here to say that I never wanted your money," he said softly, gently, ignoring my remark. Little by little, he moved closer and pulled me closer to him. "I only wanted to kiss you."
Our lips met once again.
A/N: Ahaha, just a cute little one shot. I'm not satisfied with that ending though, but i'll change it once something better comes to mind.
