Chapter 5 – My movie night
So, I spent the whole Saturday early afternoon in my pajamas (which consisted in a white 'Hello Kitty' t-shirt, white shorts, adding huge dog-shaped slippers, like any other... adult) doing absolutely nothing. Around 3 pm I was watching a re-run of Baywatch on cable. I was bored out of my mind. It was an episode in which they had to be in quarantine because of the guy they saved seemed to have a weird disease. In one of the scenes, JD was daydreaming about being with the models that were at the beach. The girls were touching his hot muscled tanned body and...
...so was I! They were gone. It was only just the two of us. He looked at me. He touched me and kissed me. We were doing it on the beach. Waves touched us when we rolled on the sand. I called his name, he called mine.
"Oh Vivi! Vivi! Vivi..."
"VIVI!" – Ew! Female voice?
"Wake up, girl!" –Lisa said
I opened my eyes scared.
No beach? No JD? No sex?
"Seth is at the door waiting for you."
"WHAT?" –THAT woke me up, I looked at my watch: 5 pm!!
Seth entered the room and he took a second to look at me:
"You were thinking in going out like that?"
"Uh. God, no! I'm really sorry. I'll be ready in a minute."
He laughed. How embarrassing.
And of course I wasn't ready in a minute.
Who do you think I am? Super-man?
So with my jeans, a sweater and my coat, I got on Seth's car.
After a few moments of silence he asked:
"Do you sleep like that in winter?"
What an awkward question!
"Well, yes."
"Aren't you cold?"
"Oh, I sleep with a lot of blankets." -I proudly said (not that that is a reason to be proud of, according to my mum at least)
"Wouldn't it be easier if you sleep with more clothes on?"
"I don't like to wear many clothes to sleep."
"Are you one of those girls that sleep naked in the summer?"
"No!" – I laughed "That was a rude thing to ask! You shouldn't ask that."
He laughed too:
"I'm sorry. I was curious."
Silence...
"So.. How do you sleep?" – I asked, then I blushed (THANK GOD, it was dark)
"With my clothes on." –he smiled without taking his eyes of the road.
"I see."
"You do?" – he smiled – "You little stalker."
"What?! No! Don't misuse my words."
"Me? Never. But the clothes that I sleep with depend of the day."
"Like if it's hot or cold?"
"Kind of."
OH NO!
"It also depends..." – he continued
I'm gross!!
"of what happened that day..."
Can you believe?
"if I'm too tired or something, I..."
I just...
"sleep with the clothes..."
...imagined...
"I had during the day..."
...Seth...
"but I don't sleep..."
...NAKED!!!
"naked."
OH MY GOD!
"I find it a bit uncomfortable, you know?"
SPEAKING OF UNCONFORTABLE.
He smiled. I smiled too. No. Actually the only thing my mouth could make was a small hysterical laugh.
God help me.
After a few awkward moments, by my side of course, Seth and me got off the car and climb up to the second floor, then he rang a bell. Xander opened the door, seconds after:
"Hey. Hi Vivi, make yourself comfortable. Are you guys hungry?" – he asked while letting us in
"Yeah." – Seth answered making his way towards the couch
I shyly went after Seth. I wasn't much comfortable, I begun to regret having accepted their invitation. I mean, I barely knew them and there I was, sitting on a couch with two guys, ready to watch some movie.
"I have pizza." – Xander yelled from the kitchen
"Is it recent?" – Seth yelled back
"Of course it is, asshole." – Xander said bringing the pizza "It has half an hour." –then he turned to me –"You like pizza, don't you? You're Italian, right?"
"Yeah, I like pizza." –I answered "And yeah, I am Italian, but that doesn't mean I have to like pizza."
He gave a smirk:
"I didn't say that. I just remembered you were, after mentioning pizza."
"You're not one of those girls who don't eat fat food, are you?" – Seth inquired
"Of course not."
Not usually anyway.
I was sitting on the couch between them, feeling much more comfortable that I was minutes before. And the movie session began.
The last one we saw was «The night of the living dead» and it was older than me, probably. But I enjoyed the movie (I also let out a few screams, but no big deal).
"She looks like an herbal essences' commercial." – Seth said when a girl was screaming
"You ruined the moment." – I said
"Fuck, man you did."
"It's not my fault this movie is lame."
"It's not lame. It's scary." – I said
"They look so fake."
"It's old."
"That's the problem."
"Would you guys shut up?" –Xander asked
After the movie ended we decided to stay a little longer because the pizza wasn't over yet. Surprisingly, the disgusting moments of ripping heads and such, in the last two movies, made us hold our pizza slices far from our mouths.
There wasn't much to see at those hours. Seth stopped on the TV Shop channel. It was a magical machine that would make food really tasty.
"How come they never eat it?" – I asked
"Well, they taste it." – Xander pointed
"But they don't eat it."
By the time we found a channel with re-runs of old cartoons the last slice of the 4th pizza was picked. God, these guys eat a lot more than you'd guess.
"Cartoons aren't what they used to be."
"Definitely."
There wasn't any pizza left, but we didn't care. We spend all night watching cartoons and talking about childhood memories like a bunch of old folks.
I had so much fun. I believe that that was one of the best nights in my life since college.
Of course, around 5 am I had fallen a sleep on Xander's couch. Only to wake up 4 hours later.
Note to self: stop sleeping on couches.

AN: the Baywatch episode mentioned in this chapter really exists. But I don't remember the name or the date, so you just have to trust me. =D
