The moon was shining brightly
Looking down at us
We went dancing nightly
On a dance floor made of trust.
The buzzards circled overhead
Disguised in angel forms
I chose to ignore the skies gone red
And the ground all cracked and torn.
When I fell through the hazard plane
Into the abyss below
The skies cried and down fell rain
Then I gripped the edge, you know.
I begged and plead for help from you
Slipping every minute
No tears came as I was sure you'd choose
Me, but you didn't.
The skies darkened considerably
I didn't feel the fall
For numbness enveloped me
And your name I couldn't call.
Where were you when I needed you?
You stood so dull and still
I thought you had loved me, too
But you assisted the kill.
And then I woke with a gasp of breath
Allowing my heart to heal
How I cried when this dream of death
I remembered was too real.
