Ahhhhh. Don't you just love Fridays? It's like; everything seems to go perfectly on that one day. Why? I'll tell you why. Cause it's fucking Friday, that's one. Everybody appreciates Fridays, thus the saying, "Thank God it's Friday". You don't hear people saying, "Thank God it's Wednesday" or "Thank God it's Tuesday".

And everything comes out on Fridays; movies, CD's, and my all time favorite, Video Games. Yes, the power to the players rules all! Ok, I know I'm a huge nerd but so what? There isn't one person on this planet that doesn't have a favorite Video Game, not one.

But what makes Fridays so important? Friday is the day that my school's Video club always has it's meetings and this Friday, October 12th, 2010, would change everything.

October 12, 2010

"Beck! Beck! Beck, wake up!" I groaned and slowly opened my right eye to see my 10-year old brother leaning over my bed, staring at me. "It better not be 5 am again or I'm gonna be pissed" I growled between clenched teeth, remembering the time when he woke me up an hour early.

"No. It's 6 am. Mom told me to come wake you up for school. Come on! Get up!" he said, jumping on my bed. I groaned and tried to push him off of me. "Mom! Come get your child!" I yelled. "Hey! She's your mom too!" he yelled in protest.

I heard my mother's footfalls and I looked over at the open door and saw her standing at the frame. "Brandon, come on. Leave your sister alone so she can get ready" she scolded. Brandon hung his head and groaned before marching out of my room.

Mom ruffled his hair as he walked past her and she looked over at me. She glanced around my room and frowned. "This room looks like a tornado hit it" she mumbled. I chuckled. "Probably did. You know how wild of a sleeper I am Mom". I pointed at the comforter that was laying snuggly on the ground and she just smiled and shook her head.

"Hurry up or you'll be late," she said over her shoulder as she walked out of my room. I collapsed back on my bed and stared at the ceiling, laying one arm on my forehead and sighing.

Maybe I should introduce myself. I'm Beck. Well, actually my name is Becca Marie Smith but Becca really didn't suit me and I'd be damned if I was going to walk around being called Marie. I'm 17-years-old and I go to Stonewall High School as a senior.

I'd say I'm about…5'9", 5'8". I really haven't been keeping track of my height so I don't exactly know. I have black shoulder length hair and hazel brown skin. My copper eyes had traces of black in them but other them that, they were nothing special.

I live with my mom, whose going through a tough time because she lost her job and thinks my father, whom she has been married to for over 20 years, may be having an affair. I don't know where she got this idea but I don't question it.

My father is a cop and a damn good one too. For a while, the kids at school were afraid to mess with me and I didn't have many friends. I was pretty much know as the 'Sheriff's kid' for quite a while. That all changed when he got wounded at a bar fight. Hit twice. Once in the thigh, and another to his hand. He didn't do much police force work after that because of his leg so now he did a lot of the office stuff.

My brother Brandon, is 10-years-old like I said before. He has no idea about mom's insane ideas about Dad's so called 'affair' and I plan on keeping it that way. The last thing he needs is to think that our parents might be splitting up.

We live in a small quaint little town. You know the type; the town where nothing happens unless you make something happen, the town where in the news the biggest story is which farm is infected with pesticides, the town where its easy to get drugs and alcohol because nobody expects there to be any drugs and alcohol in this small quaint little town. Yup. That's the one I live in.

I got out of bed and sluggishly walked over to my closet, pulling out a pair of black skinny jeans and my old summer camp T-shirt. I threw the clothes on after putting on some deodorant and perfume. I grabbed my black "Monster" hoodie and tugged it over my head, feeling the soft cotton take over me.

I pulled on my socks and shoes and fixed my hair in its proper place before grabbing my red bookbag from the corner of my room. I closed my bedroom door and walked downstairs to see Brandon eating a bowl of cereal and watching that dumb ass "Chaotic" show.

I huffed and changed the channel to Digimon. "Hey! I was watching that!" he yelled, grabbing for the remote. "No brother of mine will be watching crap like that. Digimon is the way to go!" I said, grabbing a bowl for myself and pouring out some Raisin Bran.

"You don't even watch Digimon anymore!" he yelled. I arched my eyebrows and slowly nodded. He did have a point. I haven't watched Digimon since I was 13. "Here". I handed him back the remote and he quickly turned the channel back to Chaotic.

I sat there with him and watching the dumb program that was pretty much just "Yu-Gi-Oh" but with monsters. I saw mom coming down the steps out the corner of my eye and she sighed before locking glances with me.

"Beck! It's 7:13! You're school opens at 7: 20. You have to go!" she scolded, grabbing my bowl and cup from me. I groaned when she pulled away my food but she just gave me a stern look. "Alright. I'm going. See ya around Brandon. Be good at school," I yelled, walking toward the front door.

"Me? You're the one that gets in trouble everyday!" he yelled back. I stopped in my tracks and nodded slowly again. Touché. I walked out of my house and down toward my beat up 1992 Mitsubishi Lancer. The green paint was peeling off of it and it had a few scratches but this car was my baby…well, my second baby. My first baby is my X-box 360.

I started the car up and threw my bookbag in the passenger seat, slowly backing out of the driveway and noticing Dad's car was gone. "Hmmm. He must have went to work early," I thought to myself. I drove down the street and turned a corner toward the road.

It's difficult to obey the driving laws when you're trying to get to school on time but somehow I managed. I parked in the student parking lot and turned the car off, grabbing my bookbag and quickly locking the car doors.

I walked up to the main lobby and smiled when I saw my circle of friends.

There was Lee Wong. Our neighborhood Crazian or Crazy Asian. He once jumped on our school's roof to retrieve a football, no lie. He had black hair with traces of blue in it and brown eyes. He was slightly taller than me and quite lean.

Next was Jessica Holt. She rarely went by Jessica so we all called her Jessie. She had long blonde hair that stopped at the middle of her back. Her eyes were green and she had tan sun-kissed skin. She was about 5'5".

Then there was Mark Chambers. Mark was mixed and pretty tall for a sophomore. He was the youngest one in our group and certainly the tallest. Mark had brown eyes and his hair was cut short like usual.

Last but not least, there was Hope Faith…yeah, I know. Her real name is Hope Faith. She was Mexican and had soft brown eyes and long brown curly hair. She was about my height but her Spanish accent was very strong.

I waved over at them and Mark smirked when he saw me. "You're late" he said, motioning over to me. I just shrugged and Jessie laughed. "Did you over sleep or something?" she asked, arching her eyebrows at me.

I ran my left hand over my neck, which was a nervous quirk of mine, and sighed. "Not really. Mom had Brandon on wake up duty again and I think he may have busted my spleen when he jumped on me" I groaned, running my hand over my stomach.

"I'm just glad that you know where your spleen is," Hope piped in. I glared at her and she just smiled sweetly at me. "Please tell me you didn't forget" Lee exclaimed, jumping into the conversation. It took me a while to realize what he was talking about but my eyes widened and realization hit me.

"Of course I didn't" I said, smirking at him. I unzipped my bookbag and pulled out 'Gears of War 3'. Lee almost cried and Mark dropped to the floor and bowed. Jessie rolled her eyes at our childish antics.

"I don't know why I hang out with you guys," she said to herself. "Because you're with Lee and Hope's with Mark. That's the only reason you two are here. Otherwise, you wouldn't hang out with us" I replied bluntly.

Hope and Jessie's jaw dropped and Hope slapped my arm. "Ow!" I yelled, rubbing my bicep. "That is not true! We love you just as much as we love them," she said, putting her hands on her hips. "No one was implying that you didn't!" I protested. Hope's cheeks reddened a little and she looked at the ground. "Oh" she said softly.

We all just laughed and I smiled at her. "But seriously, it's not fair to you Beck. When are you going to settle down?" Jessie asked, like a parent would ask their 35-year-old deadbeat son. I looked away from her and scuffed my feet against the ground. "I'm happy alone" I lied.

"Nobody is happy alone Beck. That's why God invented strippers," Lee said seriously. Mark and I burst into laughter as Hope just shook her head. "What do you see in him Jessie?" she asked. Jessie just shrugged and blushed.

The bell rang and I put the Video Game back in my bookbag. "Oh yeah Beck!" Lee yelled, jogging over to me. "Yeah?" "Don't forget that we've got a meeting today. Club starts at 3:30" he reminded me. I nodded my head and he took off after Jessie.

I sighed and put my hands in my sweater pocket. Sometimes, I did feel like a third wheel around my friends. Mark and Lee had been crushing on Jessie and Hope forever. They all just recently got together but neither of them has gone further then kissing yet. (I know, Mark pretty much tells me everything).

I just couldn't seem to tell them that there wasn't a nice boy for me. I'd known I was gay since I was 12-years-old but I still haven't told a soul. My reason? Because nobody would give a shit. But I guess that's also a reason to tell somebody huh?

I walked toward my locker and grabbed the lock in my right hand, quickly spinning in the code before opening the door. I threw my bookbag inside and locked the door closed again. I walked down toward my homeroom but stopped when I saw a bright yellow poster on the wall.

Are you a Gamer?

Ever felt like you weren't challenged enough?

Think that you can't be beat?

Well then maybe you should join the PTTP club!

Meet at room 211 at 3:30 this afternoon!

Power To The Players!

I chuckled and continued walking down the hall…just to crash into someone walking right towards me. We both hit the ground hard and I heard laughter around the hall. I rubbed my head and slowly sat up. It was probably a stupid freshmen that didn't know where they were going.

I stood up and frowned down at the person. "Hey! Maybe you can try watching…where…you're…what?" I stared at the gorgeous girl in front of me and I swear my jaw pretty much hit the ground.

She had long jet-black hair and greenish-brown eyes. Her skin was light and she had snakebite piercings on her bottom lip. There was black mascara around her eyes that made them stand out and I couldn't stop staring at her.

She had on a white V-neck and gray skinny jeans along with white flip-flops. Her ears had two piercings in each and her red lips were so full, so very…kissable. She arched her eyebrows at me and waved her hand over my face.

"Hello? Anybody there?" she asked. Her voice was soft and she seemed quite pissed off that I was staring at her…Oh! I've been staring at her! I quickly shook my head and looked away nervously.

"Um…yeah. Sorry about that. You alright?" I asked, trying to get my cool back. "Uh yeah. Actually I'm fine. Didn't mean to hit you but I'm kind of in a rush. Sorry by the way" she replied, walking down the hall. I watched as she went and couldn't help but to feel like I should chase after her…but I didn't.

I groaned and walked toward my previous destination and collapsed in my seat when I got there. "Hey stranger". I looked over to see my childhood friend, Melody. She had long brown hair and bangs. She recently dyed purple stripes in her hair that made her purple mascara pop out.

Her skin was tan and her green eyes were smiling just as much as her mouth was. We had been friends since Elementary school and since we had similar last names, we were always together. Smith and Schmidt.

"Hey…did we get a new student?" I asked, leaning over my desk and arching my eyebrows. She widened her eyes in shock and then leaned back against her chair. "I don't think so. Why? Did you run into someone new?" she asked. I shook my head. "Not exactly but…I just haven't seen her around here before" I replied curiously.

"Her?" she said smirking. I just nodded. "Where we're you this morning. You weren't with our usual clique," I asked, smiling at her. She groaned. "How many times do I have to tell you? Those are your friends. They hate me" she replied. I frowned. "They don't hate you. They like you as much as me" I shot back.

"No, they like me because I'm your friend. They only put up with me when you're around. I thought we weren't going to let our other friends affect our friendship," she said, raising a brow at me.

I scoffed. "We're not. I realize you have other…" "But I still make time for you because you're my most special friend" she interrupted. I smiled at her and she smiled back. "God, our kids are gonna be annoyed by us when we get older. Imagine what it would be like if they didn't like each other" I frowned.

She chuckled and looked over at me. "You're so weird! Why are you thinking about kids right now?" she asked. I shrugged. "I mean, I'm just saying. If they don't like each other then we're gonna have a serious problem" I replied. She laughed harder and I started to laugh with her.

"You going out for Homecoming Queen this year right?" I asked. She nodded. "I never really understood why Homecoming Queen was important to you but not Prom Queen," I asked curiously. She rolled her eyes and sighed. "People expect certain things out of a Prom Queen and I do not want people eying me like they eyed Trixie Washington last year" she groaned.

I laughed in remembrance to Trixie and she kicked me under the table. "Ouch! Ok! Ok! You know I love Trixie as much as you do but it was just hilarious to see her stumbling around drunk when she was dancing with Ryan. Then she threw up on him and had the nerve to say it was, and I quote, the best day of her life!" I burst into laughter again and Melody bit her lip hard to hold down her giggles.

"Now you understand why, don't you?" she asked. I just nodded and started laughing again. "So, about this girl you bumped into…" she said smirking, leaning over the desk towards me. I arched my eyebrows at her and smiled.

"Unh uh. No way. My lips are sealed. If I see her again, then maybe I'll explain things to you in further detail" I said smugly, leaning back in my chair. She stuck her tongue out at me and I did the same. Melody was the only person who knew I was gay. The only one. And I didn't tell her, she guessed.

"You're no fun Beck," she pouted. I kissed her forehead and she swung playfully at me. I blocked her hits and laughed. "Love you too Mel" I said, winking at her. She rolled her eyes again but I could see a faint blush on her cheeks. Oh well. Must be kind of hot in here.

The bell to move to 1st period went off and everyone in the class moved toward the door. "Don't you have some nerd meeting to attend to today?" she asked, playfully shoving me. "No. I do not have some nerd meeting to attend to. I have a club meeting for serious gamers to attend to" I replied, shoving her back just as playfully.

She mumbled "nerd" under her breath and I shot her a look. "Have fun at your meeting!" she yelled, walking toward her class. "Whatever Mel" I yelled back, heading upstairs. I opened the step doors and 'Bang!"

Someone hit the ground with a loud 'Fuck!' and my eyes widened. I quickly closed the door and enter through the other one. I chuckled to myself when I saw who was on the ground. I extended my hand out to her and she slowly took it as I pulled her back on her feet.

"We have got to stop meeting like this" I chuckled. She laughed softly and looked up at me with those amazing eyes of hers. "Um…I know we don't really know each other but I'm new and I don't really know where I'm going so…" Ha! I knew she was new.

"Um, sure. What class do you have right now?" I asked. She pulled out a paper from her back pocket and unfolded it. "Government with Mr. Lewis" she read aloud. "That'll be easy because I have that too. You can just uh…follow me," I said, losing my nerve toward the end.

She shrugged and motioned for me to lead the way. We walked down the hall together and I kept looking over at her. "What is with this girl that makes me feel so…different?" I thought to myself. She noticed me looking and caught my stare with a stare of my own.

"What? Is there something on my face?" she said, laughing. "Uh, no. No. Your face is fine," I said dumbly. I realized how that sounded and wanted to smack myself in the forehead. "Your face is fine. Come on Beck! Get it together," I growled in my head.

We walked in silence down the hall and I opened the door for her to enter Mr. L's class. "Thanks" she said softly, walking past me. "No problem" I replied. I looked around the room and realized that there were only two seats left and they were in the back, right beside each other.

I followed her to the back and we both sat down. I leaned back in my chair as Mr. L started his introduction but I zoned out when a certain 'strawberry' scent covered the area. "God, she smells amazing. I wonder how she tastes," I thought. No! Bad Beck! We don't talk about tasting girls!

"Oh yeah! I'm Natalie," she whispered, smiling at me. I noticed that her teeth were perfectly white and her smile was bright. "I'm Becca but you can call me Beck" I whispered back.

Mr. Lewis split us into groups of two and my partner was no one other than…you guessed it! Natalie. We looked back in forth through the textbook for the answers and I liked how when she got confused she would chew on her bottom lip. I wonder if those piercings ever got in the way.

She noticed me staring at her again and put her pencil down. "Ok. You have been staring at me pretty much all day. What's your problem?" she said, glaring at me. I lifted my hands up in defense and quickly shook my head.

"There's no problem. You're just…different," I said truthfully. "Different because of the way I look right?" she asked, her glare turning intense as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"No! It's not that at all. Promise you" I replied. She narrowed her eyes at me and sighed. "You're weird, you know that?" she said, picking her pencil back up. I sighed. Happy to be out of that predicament. "Yeah, well I've heard that before. So where are you from?" I asked, trying to start a more 'casual' conversation.

"LA" she replied, not looking up from the book. "What kind of music do you like?" I asked, noting things down in the back of my mind.

"Never Shout Never, All Time Low, Slip Knot, The Fray, Nickelback, Lifehouse, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, 3OH!3, Ke$ha…do I have to continue?" she said, smirking at me.

"Uh not really. So…you got any siblings?" "What is this? Like, 20 questions?" she shot back, staring into my eyes. "No. Just trying to get to know you. Why? Am I coming on to strong?" I asked, leaning back further.

She looked down at my chair and chuckled. "If you lean back any more, you'll fall," she said. I arched my eyebrows at her. "Believe it or not but I have perfect balance" I said smugly. She raised an eyebrow before knocking her desk against mine; causing a slight vibration, and making me lose my footing.

I tried to grab the desk edge but missed and tumbled to the ground. The class chuckled and Mr. L walked over to me. "Maybe now you'll sit with 4 legs on the ground huh Ms. Smith," he teased. I gave him a phony smile and put my chair back up and plopping into it.

Natalie wouldn't look at me but I could see a small smile on her face. I pouted and laid on the desk. "You did that on purpose," I mumbled. She just shrugged and ran her tongue over one of her lip piercings. She looked sexy just doing that. I groaned and put my head on the cold desk, hoping to cool myself off.

I felt a hand on my thigh and quickly glanced over toward Natalie. There was no emotion on her face but her cheeks were slightly red. I looked between her and where her hand was on my body. I decided to try and ignore her and put my head back down…before she gently squeezed.

I groaned and bit down on my tongue. She leaned toward me and brought her lips to my ear. "I think you just may not be coming on strong enough," she whispered huskily. My eyes shot up and before I could say another word, her hand was back in her lap.

That was weird. That was really weird. But I can't say I didn't like it. Who is this Natalie girl and why is it all I wanna do is rip off her clothes and take her on this desk? I looked back toward her and she caught my gaze. We stared at each other for a while until she looked back down at the textbook.

Hmmmmm. This could get very interesting.
