"Our midnight Holiday Friends Marathon will continue after these short messages…"

Alexis Harper flicked off the TV set and pulled the blankets up to her chin hoping to be able to get at least an ounce of warmth on such a cold December night. Like all the other Christmas Eves since her mom died, she was doing a countdown on her living room pull-out bed alone waiting for Christmas to come. Keyword being: Alone. For as long as she could remember, she was always alone. People always told her she was too nice, too naïve and apparently to her last ex-boyfriend, too easy. Her friends were probably out partying as usual, getting pissed drunk while she was watching Friends reruns and choking down eggnogs. But its better this way, she was happy alone, safer alone, she always was and figured she always will be.

Clank

She jolted upwards and her eyes darted back and forth. Maybe it was just her ears playing a trick on her.

CLANK

Or maybe not, her head started rambling, maybe it was just a cat, or maybe that pesky squirrel was back? Yeah that's it, nothing to be scared of. But what if it's a man looking for an early Christmas present? Oh God. With no weapon on hand she grabbed the broom in the corner of the room. Living on the first floor apartment wasn't the safest, her patio led to the outside apartment terrain, homeless cats used to constantly knock on her door begging for milk. A shadow of a man appeared and loud banging erupted through the thin walls coming from the patio door. That was definitely not a homeless cat.

She could hear his muffled screaming and pounding. She only gripped the broom tighter as he screamed louder. The man looked behind him and pounded harder on the glass patio which was threatening to break from the knocking. His voice was distorted by the glass but "Please open the door!!! followed by more pounding, triggered her senses. The thought of this man possibly being in grave danger made her reconsider. She wouldn't be able to live with the thought of this man dying because she was too suspicious of him. And what if whoever was out there got him and then came after her next. Without a second thought, she ran to the patio door, her earlier suspicions flying out the window as she unlocked the door. The man immediately pulled open the door and pushed himself inside. He stumbled forward which caused both of them to land on the pull out bed, him on top of her. She was about to let out a scream until he covered her mouth with his hand.

"Stay quiet." He whispered in her ear, his breath tickling her ear lobe. This was so unreal. She averted her eyes back outside the door as she heard a group of guys pass by.

"We can't find him boss." A group of men confronted a bushy man.

"Well keep searching!!! FUCK, how hard is it to track down one bloody guy."

"Yes boss." The group disbanded as the assumed 'boss' lit a cigarette and left shortly afterwards as well. The man beside her finally let out a breath and rolled off of her. He sat up and ran a hand over his face. While he was cursing to himself she abruptly got up and slammed the patio door making him jump. He examined her as she closed the curtains. Average height, brown hair, nothing special, its better this way he thought. He wasn't counting on getting laid tonight anyways.

"Who are you? What's going on?" She got right to the chase as she turned on a lamp. He shifted in his spot causing the springs to creak. He guessed he owed her an explanation for intruding on her holiday night. He looked up at her through his shaggy and unkempt hair and she began to take notice on how handsome he was. Rich brown eyes and midnight black hair with a nice body, he wasn't short of gorgeous. He ran a hand through that gorgeous hair and sighed.

"I've had a little trouble with debt collectors, loan sharks…" He sniffled and rubbed his hands together for warmth. "Yeah" She noticed him shivering from the cold. He was only wearing a t-shirt and jeans, no wonder he'd be cold considering it was below freezing outside. She went and turned on the heater as he nodded at her in thanks.

"A little trouble?" she raised an eyebrow.

"Ok...a lot." He looked around uncomfortably then began to speak. "Look, I realize I don't know you, but I need a huge favor." She unconsciously crossed her arms. "I need a place to stay, at least for tonight, if I go anywhere else, they'll find me." She looked at him suspiciously and bit her lip. "Please." Like hell she was going to let a stranger stay over night.

"What about a hotel?" Excuses, she needed lots of them.

"I'm in this mess because I have no money at this moment, I can't afford a hotel in this crisis." He stated obviously.

"I'm sorry but I can't just let a stranger into my house."

"I'll give you an autograph and tickets to my next concert, anything." He blurted, "Just please…" Now she was really confused, tickets, autograph? Was there some sort of sick joke that she wasn't quite getting.

She furrowed her eyebrows at him in confusion. "I'm sorry?"

"Crude Voice5, ever heard of them?"

She frowned, "Yeah that band that's gotten really popular these days."

"You a fan?" He perked.

"Not a huge fan, don't like their music too much. Personally I think the only reason they're famous is cause' they're interesting to the media and the drummer's quite the eye-candy but other than that I don't rea-"

"I'm the lead singer" He cut her off with a glare; he didn't particularly like her bad-mouthing his band. He flashed her a smirk.

"What?" She blinked dumbly, how could she have not noticed?

"Name's Blaze Roach, lead singer, really hot, incredible voice… anything?" He stated each like Alexis was an idiot. Which she wasn't, she knew who he was and like hell she'd let him stay in her house.

"Thought you were in rehab?" She questioned coldly, gritting her teeth, hoping he'd get the message and leave.

He smiled widely at her, oh how much she wanted to rip that smile off his face. "So you do know me."

"What are you doing in my house?" He could almost feel her burn a hole in his forehead with her glare.

"I thought we covered this." He sighed and patted the bed to make himself comfortable "So can I take this bed and you take the bedroom?"

"Get out"

Blaze looked up at her, thinking about what she just said. "I'll have sex with you" He blurted, he after all, had nothing else to offer.

"You're disgusting"

He smirked, "I bet you're real lonely and I bet you'll never see a cock this big"

"I don't need anything that you have, leave." How dare he? He didn't know her and even if she was lonely, she wasn't desperate. He seriously touched on a wrong nerve, thinking she was so easy as to offer her house to him for such a revolting price. Even if he wasn't the worst looking man alive. She was convinced all men were the same, right after they get what they want, they're out the door the next fucking day. She was starting to get really fed up with him. She pointed to the patio "Go." He got up to leave but instead started to walk closer to Alexis, bursting her personal space bubble.

"It's Christmas, have a heart." His brows knitted as he gazed into her sea-green eyes, pleading her, hoping to get though to her. "I have no where else to go, you saw the guys after me, if they find me I'm as good as dead." Blaze grabbed her shoulders and hoped she would understand. "Please?" He was desperate. She flinched away from his touch and stared blankly up at him which he took as an inevitable no. He slowly lowered his hands and nodded sadly and turned to leave. His sad gaze made her heart skip a beat. "Thanks anyways." He understood, since no women in their right mind would let him in her house, after what all the media spewed out to the public about him. He just hoped that maybe, maybe she would help even him.

"Wait." Alexis bit her lip; she couldn't just throw him out on a curb like this, despite her inner voices screaming 'NO'. He was right, if they found him, he was better off dead; loan sharks were a scary group. "If you don't try anything funny and just stay on the couch..." She watched as he turned to face her with wide eyes anticipating for her to speak. "You can stay." She regretted it the moment it slipped out of her mouth, but there's no turning back now.

Oh god, what did she just get herself into.
