Fleeting scratching haunts my mind

With the terrible need to write

Before all memory of it is gone

Like that one time and the second

And the third—all of them fusing

Together into times lost to write—

Fusing like old mascara and sweat—

Sweat from today; sweat from troubles—

Troubles are the need to write, but I had

Forgotten to… write—I had forgotten

How to spell it—W-R-I-T-E, but I did not

Forget her words—I never will—

Her words are troubles and troubles

Lead me to write and writing reminds

Me of my thoughts and my thoughts

Are memories and my memories

Remind me that I did not write

When I should have, and that brings

Troubles, which bring the all consuming,

All possessing, all encompassing

Need to write.
