here i sit, babbling and fumbling with words
i have written all night, a speech to recite
but here i am, concentrating on the birds
they always seem to know when to sing.
my eyelids wouldn't fight against the sunrise
i sit here, a rambling fool without a rested head
i've woven a conversation for us to have
but my lips have forgotten their place
it was just one of those occasions
where one look from would strike me dumb
i hope you know how hard it is to speak
with a tongue that just cannot be held
regardless of my actions,
or my foolish words,
i came here to sing to you,
just ask the birds.
