Chapter 5: Estavan

Algebra was mostly a free period seeing how Mrs. Ordonez was absent and the sub was pretty non-caring. Sable's question, though, caught me so off guard that I had to do a double take to make sure I understood correctly.

"What was that?"

"I said 'are you gay'?"

"What? Where the hell did that question come from?!"

"Just asking, so are you?"

"Uh… to tell you the truth, I don't know."

"Dude, how could you not know? If you prefer guys over girls your gay, if you prefer girls your straight and both the same you are bi, simple as that, dofus!"

"Whatever. I'm bi then because I like both girls and I guess guys."

"Guess? How the hell can you guess if you like boys?"

"Well I usually never looked at guys that way in till…"

"In till…?"

"(Sigh) in till Eric came along." I looked down at my hands on the table hating that she could get me to spill it so easily and her even more for having that stupid accomplished look on her face.

"Look, don't fret about that. Believe it or not, I'm a lesbian and currently dating a girl named Stella Luna. She moved last month, but we are still tight as ever."

"Wow, did not see that coming!"

"Ha-ha, yeah Eric didn't ether."

"Eric knows? When did you tell him?"

"I told him the day he told me he was… uh…" RING, RING, RING! Saved by the bell, I decided to interrogate them both at lunch *evil smirk*. Lunch was taking its sweet time and was driving me crazy. Sable kept looking like someone who was close to death and the need to see Eric and know what was going on was so strong that I nearly wrote down my thoughts and hopes on the speech outline we were working on. Lunch finally rolled around and I bolted out the door ignoring Sables' pleas to slow down and skidded to a halt in front of Eric when I got to the meeting place.

"Whoa, hungry much?" He gave me his breathtaking half grin… wait did I just say breathtaking? When I looked in his eyes, the question I practiced for the last hour and a half died in my throat. He looked as if he was debating a life threatening choice.

"Hey, can I talk to you for a sec?" He asked after just staring at each other for about 5 seconds.

"Yeah, sure Eric." We slowly walked toward a private place between two trees and Sable paced back and forth in front of us ready to give a heads up if anyone was coming.

"Eric, Sable told me she told you that she was a les when you told her something, dose this have anything to do with what you are about to tell me?"

"Yeah…" the pain in his eyes were so deep that I just wanted to wrap him in my arms and promise him nothing will happen to him. When did I start getting these gay thoughts about him for crying out loud?!

"Estavan?"

"Huh, sorry I spaced out for a moment there, what?"

"I said 'I'm gay'." Please hold while brain re-boots… WHAT?!

"HUH?!"

"Look, I don't mean that I will attack you or anything, I just wanted you to know…" I couldn't hear the rest, my mind escaped to La-la land. Eric was gay… Eric, smart, funny, handsome Eric was gay… This beautiful creature was standing in front of me just told me he was gay right after I admitted to myself I was bi… SCORE!!!

"Are you taken?!" I cut threw whatever he was saying. He looked at me shocked and obviously taken a back by my unexpected question.

"N-no…" He looked at me with an adorable puzzled face, that was all it took to destroy my remaining self control and I pushed him against one of the trees, stepped on to my tipy-toes and kissed him full on the mouth. At first I was as shocked as he was, but then my instincts kicked in and I poked my tongue against his closed mouth in till he finally came over his shock and granted me access. Our tongues in twined together and visited the others mouth leaving nothing unexplored. We would have continued forever if it wasn't for Miss Ruin the Moment and her cursed clearing of the throat. "I can see y'all are enjoying a tasty lunch together but I for one need food so hurry up with the tongues and let's eat!" We followed her across the light towards Wienerschnetzal hand in hand.

That night, all that was going threw my brain was Eric, Eric, Eric… god is this love? If it is… well I LOVE IT!!! After dinner I grabbed my parents and forced them to settle down in our den. Ever since I got home, I was going through a speech that would tell them everything and I was also praying to all those of higher power that they wouldn't hate me.
