Because You Are My Man

Because you are my man…I treat you with kindness.

Because you are my man…I try and give you the fineness.

I rub your feet because you are my man and fix you what you want to eat,

…because you are my man.

Because you are my man…I treat you with respect.

Because you are my man…I go fetch when you tell me to go fetch.

I listen to you whine and complain because you are my man and when you come home from work I try to take away your pain,

…because you are my man.

Because you are my man…I am loyal to you.

Because you are my man…I motivate you.

I stand by your side through thick and thin because you are my man and I give you my love from deep within,

…because you are my man.

Because you are my man…I trust you.

Because you are my man…I forgive you.

I give you my body when you ask because you are my man and I gave you my broken heart to patch,

…because you are my man.

I bow down to you because of fear not because you are my man.

I bite my tongue because of fear not because you are my man.

I swing back because I am a woman in pain and distress from being in fear of my man.

I ask myself a question I cannot answer…why are you still my man.
