A dream I had!

My heart was fluttering while I sat in wait. I barely remembered His Majesty the King was sitting a few feet away, carving a mental notch for every unessesary move I made. Once the Prince rounded the corner on his horse, it took every bit of my strength not to tackle him.

"Thank heavens you have arrived safely, my son!" the king stood up.

He said not one word as he unloaded his satchel.

"Was it not a good ride then? Shall I kill the beast and fetch another?"

"Great ride. Absolutely" he turned around and locked eyes with me. "beautiful outside."

"We might have to ride together-"

"Excuse me." the Prince held his hand up to his father, and walked over to me. "You came." he smiled, kissing my hand softly.

"I was escorted," I shook my head reluctantly. "by a white, horse-drawn carraige. How could I not accept?"

He grinned, turning back to his father. "Have you two had a chance to talk?"

The King muttered under his breath.

"Father! Are you telling me that you sat there in silence waiting for my return?"

"If you will excuse us, I would like to show the lady around the castle, if you don't mind."

"Don't let me get in the way..." he plopped down in the chair.

When we made it inside, his mood was lighter, happy to finally be alone with me. "I'm sorry about him."

I shook my head, "He means well,"

He smiled at me. "Even when it's horrible, you make the best of it."

"What can I say?"

"You don't have to say anything."

I looked deeply into his eyes, barely noticing his electrifying closeness. "I-"

"Shh." he leaned forward and softly pressed his lips to mine. To be honest, it felt like thousands of horns were firing a major chord in my head. I pulled away and took a couple of steps back. "This is-" I sighed, "too much."

He looked confused.

"The carraige, the servant, and the kissing."

"What about the kissing?"

"Don't get me wrong, the kissinf was amazing, but the-"

I opened my mouth to speak, but closed it again, feeling my cheeks getting warm.

He laughed, "Don't worry about anything. If you don't want help, then you can just tell them. If you just want a horse to yourself, tell me. You don't have to be treated like a princess. I didn't bring you here for that. "

"Then why did you drag me here?"

"As cliche as it sounds, I wanted you to meet my family."

I couldn't hold in my laughter.
