In his teenage years, he found that all the girls he liked were haughty.
So he missed his chance for marriage, until he had gone past 40.
Then a pocket of creation led the man towards the Hollow
Of Reversal, where he found some fruit, which seemed a treat to swallow.
It reversed his age to 14, when he ate a fresh ripe strawberry.
Then he came upon a maiden who was fanciful, named Aubrie.
Like a precious work of fiction, she was pressed to find a fruit tree,
Which could heal her own rejection. Then she thought this Boy "a cutie."
They enjoyed each other's kisses, as the Boy found Aubrie stunning;
Since the fruit of youth had put an end to all his aimless running
From the emptiness, which typified his heart as he'd grown older.
She was unaware of how he'd used the Hollow 'til he told her.
She was pleased the fruit had bridged the gap of age, which still arouses
All the passions crossing boundaries. They would share each other's houses,
Until his was checked by Jenny from the Team of Social Service:
One sweet widow in her forties, who would make the Boy feel nervous.
She took notes that he was underage, assessed the situation,
And informed him he could not reside alone. The legislation
Still required that minors found an adult, so they could be fostered.
He admired the widow, glad she'd been the one the Team had rostered.
She adopted him; but this kept him and Aubrie separated.
Then she later met her destined partner: one for whom she'd waited.
(He was not the one, who'd let her down and offered up excuses,
Just around the time the Boy regained his youth with strawberry juices.)
Now the Boy soon fell in love with Jenny, growing ever keener,
Wishing he was not so young now; since the grass was always greener
On the other sides of age and time. He knew that such a teaming
Up of him and her could never be. But he had just been dreaming.
His alarm clock woke him up at last. The whole dream kept replaying
In his memory. Aubrie's influence on him would still be staying
In his mind; but now he wished that Jenny's image wasn't thinning.
He recalled that Aubrie told him, "Hold on tight. The ride's beginning."
As he wondered what to make of someone (from his dreams) advising
Him to greet his best tomorrows, he felt newer hopes arising.
Then he went to church as usual, where a lady came to transfer
From another parish: Jenny was his dreaming question's answer.
