Flying

I close my eyes

And drift to sleep.

I feel myself float up,

Up above the clouds,

Higher than anyone's gone before.

I soar with the birds,

In perfect formation.

I hear them chirping around me,

And easily excepting me among them.

I fly

Over my neighborhood,

And laugh with joy

At my tiny house.

I dive into the sunrise,

Smiling happily

At the array of colors,

As my skin is died first pink, then blue and purple.

But as my alarm clock rings

I must wake up

And face hard reality

Once again.
