I was a lonely bud, too scared to bloom,

I was dull and pale, I was full of gloom.

The scorching sun above, the surrounding thorns

Forced me to stay in a shell that no one cared to adorn.

Then came you- a lovely yellow butterfly,

You made me feel strong, you never let me cry.

You urged me to bloom, and become a lovely red rose.

My beauty won hearts-I was proud of the life I chose.

You built me- you gave me a new life, you taught me to smile,

You showed me what love is, and how life without it is futile.

I was an ugly horse, too tired to run.

I lived in an abandoned stable, and stayed away from fun.

You were the only one to notice my eyes full of tears,

You were the only one who cared to rid me of my fears.

You rode on my back, and made me win a race,

Since then I have never been afraid of any chase.

You made me useful; you showed me my powers,

You turned my thorny tracks into a path strewn with flowers.

You built me- you gave me a new life, you taught me to smile,

You showed me what love is, and how life without it is futile.

My life was confined in a classroom, my eyes fixed on the window,

My day passed with talkative friends, watching their faces glow.

There was no freshness anywhere; there was dearth of love,

But then you were sent to me, by God from Heaven above.

You taught me to fly, you taught me to live; you taught me to wipe my tears,

You taught me to be strong; you inspired me to fight my fears.

You showed me what true love is, you taught me to think twice,

U taught me how forgiving someone can be so nice.

You built me- you gave me a new life, you taught me to smile,

You showed me what love is, and how life without it is futile.
