to sleep beside you
oh—what a dream.

to listen to your breath,
and feel your air collide
with mine.

to watch your slowing movements
as your body starts winding down
and you're more vulnerable
and your smile's sweeter.

cupping your face,
i'll capture your warmth.
absorb it through my skin
then down into my veins,
and down to my heart,
your body heat will swim.

to have your scent and mine,
become one, lost in the other's
as our breaths' slow,
and our sense of sight is lost
all we have is the sound of each other
soft breathing, the smell of the other
becoming our own, and the feel of another
being slightly touching where the edge of
one of us hits the other.

to sleep beside you
oh—what a dream.
