Walking into school the first day I was very nervous. New school, no friends, and no sense of direction. Why must I take after my mother? As my father once said to me: "You couldn't find your way around even if bright yellow arrows pointed the way." Yeah, that was about right. As well as being directionally challenged, I was also clumsy, nerdy, and short. Thus leading to me being the prime target of every bully that walks upon this fucked up planet. Yes, nerdy and I cuss. Rebel!!! ...No? Okay. Anyways, back to the point. I had no clue where I was going. But luckily, once I walked through the main doors the office was right in front of me. Yay! I pushed open the doors and walked up to the nice looking lady. Was it just me, or did all office secretary people look nice?

"Hello, I'm new here this year, and I have no clue where to go or anything and I was wondering if -"

"Oh hello dear! My name is Miss. Tropa. What's yours?"

-Sigh- This wasn't going to be a quick moment. "I'm Reese and I was just going to ask for a map or something because I don't wanna miss any more than I already have..."

"Oh sure dear! Here is a map of the campus with all the classrooms labeled and your schedule should have the teachers names on it and your lunch is going to be... let's see... 2nd lunch, and here, let me walk you to your first class!"

Why does she keep calling me dear? And I don't need to be walked to my class, I'm already going to fail at making friends, and I'm sure being walked to class by a talkative office lady isn't going to help much. But I guess at least I wouldn't get lost, so I willingly followed her out of the lobby area. Her shoes made annoying tapping sounds on the tiled floor and they clashed with her peach colored sundress which was about 10 sizes too big for her. She must be lonely.

As we walked to a rather large looking building a tall boy approached us. Well, I don't know if you would call him tall, but compared to my 5 foot even height... anyone was tall. Yeah I know, midget height. But I'm not a midget or short person, whatever they preferred, so meh. Oh sorry, I get distracted. As the boy came closer I noted his perfect black shoulder length hair, long legs, and dark brown eyes. Wow, they were almost as dark as mine. But nothing is darker than black. And no, I'm not a vampire or anything, my parents both had brown eyes, so I guess I just got a double dose? Anyway, the boy. He walked to to Miss. Lonely Woman and started talking to her. I could barely hear him, such a quiet voice... what's up with that? Guys are supposed to be loud! Maybe he's gay. Maybe he...

"Reese!" the teacher exclaimed interrupting my thought process, "Sage here has offered to show you around on your first day. You have the first three classes together and he said he will walk you to your last class before he goes to his, and that really is so kind of you Sage! You see Reese, Sage..."

"ECH-HMM! Mrs. Tropa, I think I can handle things from here. Thanks." +1 for Sage! Yay for no more non-stop talking!!

"Oh, yes, I am going on aren't I? Well I will leave you too to get back to class then! Goodbye Reese! Have a lovely first day!"

She walked away and I let out a little sigh. "Crazy isn't she?" Sage asked and started walking. I followed him along a short hall.

"Yeah, I'm just glad you came along when you did. I thought my head was going to explode." I looked at Sage and the little half smile on his face. "So... why aren't you in class?"

"Ha, well I was going to the bathroom" he did air quotes with his fingers "and I saw you two walking. I know Tropa can be a handful so I decided to rescue you." He smiled again and stared into the distance. We stopped in front of a large black door marked J7: Smith, Linda.

"How fortunate! Er... I mean thanks, I think... um... I'm kinda socially impaired so I mean, if you really don't want to show me around, you don't have to, I think I could find my way... maybe."

"Don't sweat it. It's not everyday we get a cute new kid." He blushed and glanced away. Did he just... um... that's awkward?

"Oh, uh well, uh.." I tried to figure out what to say and he smirked. "Come on, we're missing English." He opened the door and motioned for me to follow. Oh boy...
