I wrote this 4 years ago when I was in grade8, I stumbled upon it when I was cleaning out my computer files, I re-read it and I was wondering if you guys would like to see a new and improved extended version of it.. with romance, drama, and so on.. Tell me what you think. :)
Don't do business with Hades.
Seven years ago, Rea was a naive girl. At seventeen she had let herself be fooled by Hade the one and only god of the underworld. Her whole life she had wished for one thing only, a family. Seeing as hers died long before she even knew how to speak. On the night of her seventeenth birthday an intruder appeared in the corner of her dark room at her foster parent's home. Startled she sat up and stared at the intruder like a dear caught in headlights. It stepped up to the foot of her bed. Taking that time to survey in what she could about the intruder, she had seen it was a slightly hunched cloaked figure. The intruder started speaking in a deep and very fighting voice.
"I shall give you what you desire most, a family. In exchange for a small price, your soul."
At first she had thought, "Yeah right, I haven't heard that one before" going heavy on the sarcasm. But then she really thought it over and decided it was worth a shot.
"Okay" she responded.
"Then it shall be done, I will come to receive the soul you have promised me when I am in need for it."
Then with a cliché puff of purple smoke it disappeared.
The next day when she had woken up to the life she had always dreamt of. Years went by, at this point in her life she had forgotten about the deal she made that night and had reached utter bliss. After a long night of celebrating her twenty-third birthday with her family, Rea was exhausted. She plopped down in her bed just to jump right back out when she spotted a dark and familiar figure. The memories of her seventeenth birthday hit her like a brick making her head pound.
"It's time… it's time you pay your debt to me." The figure said.
She didn't even reply, she just bolted out of the room on impulse. Rea didn't get far though, the figure appeared in front of her though, making her skid to a stop. It took the hood of its cloak of and revealed himself for the first time. She was awe stuck. He had inhuman beauty and even when he was still he had amazing grace. After what had happened Rea still didn't believe in magic and gods. But there he was, Hades, living and breathing proof that it all existed.
"You shall pay your debt to me mortal!" He said, hardily rising his voice. It still terrified her though.
But then something clicked in her mind.
"Wait!" She yelled.
"I know you think you're all strong and mighty, but I bet you can't even beat me -a mortal- at a Touge race."
He frowned his brows, but before he could say anything she interrupted again.
"You and I race, if you win you get to keep my soul, if I win you will make me queen of the underworld and I get to keep my soul." She was going to say "The winner gets to keep my soul" but though against it. Why shouldn't she milk the opportunity? Think of all the power she would have if she in fact did win.
"Now why would I do that, when I could take it right now?" He asked her, his tone arrogant.
"Because if you do, you will never know who -out of the two of us- is a better driver." She said, trying to hide her snicker.
"Deal." He said, after a minute of mussing over the proposal. Little did he know that she had a side hobby, street racing. She was the best of them all.
Just minutes later they were in their cars - graciously provided by Hades- at a red light. After what seemed like an eternity, the light turned green and they are speeding down the road, gracefully drifting corners, speeding for the finish line. Hades had to admit, she was a worthy opponent but nothing compared to the fast reflexes, and precision of an immortal. Obviously he won. They stepped out of their cars, Rea once again tried to make a brake for it. But Hades caught up with her in an instant. He stuck his index and middle fingers in her eye sockets, and wail screaming out in agony a bright silver light formed and she was pushed away by a force of energy. Hades was now nowhere to be seen and her soulless body lay unmoving in the middle of the street.
