I jumped.
Off a three story building.
Landing right in Colton's arm.
"Nice catch."
"Thank you." He said gently putting me down.
"Shh." Jamie silenced us. She picked up my bag and tossed it over her shoulder. "You're going to wake them up."
As soon as the words were off her lips a light flicked on. Jamie and I froze but Colton pulled us into the bushes. Anna-May stuck her head out the door and scowled when she saw nothing.
"We clear?" I whispered.
"Looks like it." Jamie stepped out and brushed some leaves off her jeans.
"Come on." I said crawling out.
Colton disappeared around the corner and we followed. Jamie opened the garage door revealing a black jeep like one you'd see in a FBI chase. Colton slipped in the drivers seat and started the engine. As soon as he'd pulled out, the entire house lit up. Anna-May came running back out screaming her head off.
Jamie opened the back door and pushed me in. She slid in after giving Anna-May a smug smile.
"Kids!" Anna-May screamed.
Colton didn't stop driving. Jamie hopped over the seat and into the front leaving me alone in the back. I turned around to watch as Anna-May screamed to the sky.
In the dark I could barely see the building I'd lived in for months. The messed up little orphanage where I'd met Jamie and Colton both equally annoyed at being here. And now I was finally free.
