A Second Chance

Another day, she opens the mailbox

She finds a pile, and sorts through,

She finds one addressed to her

She is scared, doesn't know what to do.

What had she thought before?

She'll never make it, she has no confidence.

She has given up forevermore.

She's tipped over; she's lost her balance.

Another hour, she opens the envelope

She reaches in and pulls out a paper,

Her eyes flick down, they read the words,

She's still anxious, the letter tapers.

Is it true? Is it a joke?

She's become nervous, untrusting.

Ever since that day she broke.

Unsure of what this means, this brings

After a moment of thinking

She understands.

She has finally been given

A second chance.
