"How much will I remember?"
"Enough."
"Will I remember you?"
"You will when we meet again."
"Then, till then. I love you."
"And I you. Go."
The wind blew through her hair, twigs and leaves just narrowly missing her as she rushed towards the road. Without warning she stumbled, crashing into a tree surrounded by thorny unmerciful bushes. An odd sound, resembling the call of a fox or perhaps some sort of bird, excaped from her lips. She pulled herself out of the bushes in the most ungraceful manner she had ever moved. Thin scratches covered her body from the thorns and trickles of blood ran down her face where she'd scraped it against the rough bark of the tree.
Her wide green eyes stared arounded the wooded area, seeing the world in a completely different way then she did before. It was so small! Using a neighboring tree for support, she righted herself into a standing position. The red of her blood standing out in an almost unatural way on her milky white skin, emphasized by the light of the glowing full moon above her.
She pulled bits of twigs and leaves from her tangled curly red hair as she tried to figure out what exactly she was doing. With that thought, she realized that not only did she not know what she was doing, but she didn't know anything. Not even her name. She decided that the best thing to do was to continue in the direction she'd been going when she crashed into the tree.
Only a few moments passed before the ground beneath her bare feet changed from the soft familiar feeling of the Earth to the cold hard feeling of something like thousands of tiny rocks forced together. It was rough and unfriendly, she didn't like it at all but it seem like where she needed to be.
At that point, she wasn't sure what to do from there. A slight mist rolled around her legs, sending shivers all through her body. She had nothing to warm her. She sat down, just off to one side of the road to take advantage of the slightly warmer ground. She pulled her knees close to her bossom, trying to hold the heat close to her.
She felt a lump in her throat and her eyes got very wet, slowy dripping down her face and smearing the dirt that covered her cheeks. She was lost, confused, and alone. Nothing felt right. She didn't know who she was or what she was doing. After what seemed like forever, two lights appeared down the road.
She thought they looked like two very small suns. They lit up the world around her more than the moon ever could. As they drew closer, she saw that they were attatched to a huge thing that moved at an astounding speed. Perhaps they were the eyes of some great spirit?
Just as she thought it was going to pass her, it slowed to a stop. A much smaller creature, more her size came out from one side. It had a concerned look on it's face, maybe even a hint of fear. It walked over to her and crouched down only inches from her. It made a complex sound that she neither recognized nor quite understood.
It said it again and she just stared, biting her lip and unsure of what to do. The creature sighed and took off something from its torso, skins of some sort. It wrapped them around her and held out its hand. She looked at its palm when a feeling of complete trust came to her. Suddenly she knew the next step to…whatever it was she was doing. As soon as she took its hand, she realized it was a male. A human male. This was definitely a good thing.
The boy led her to the stonelike thing it had come out of. The inside was warm and soft, she liked it a lot. She was exhausted and before she knew it she had fallen asleep wrapped in the warm fur or skin the boy had given her.
