Tidal Wave

Swept along by your current
Laying back, enjoying the ride
Weather all the thunder storms
Because I was by your side

Thought that's how it would always be
Languishing on the constant sea
But what a fool
What a fool you made of me

Now I'm caught in a tidal wave
Swept away, left behind in your wake
Don't know how to cry; how to be brave
Your tsunami took all I had to take

Swimming in the shallow water
You reached for my hand
Reaching new depths with each other
The only one who could understand

Now I'm caught in a tidal wave
Swept away, left behind in your wake
Don't know how to cry; how to be brave
Your tsunami took all I had to take

But now I see I'm not the only one
To be blinded by the reflection of the sun
Not the only fool to be taken in by you
Just to be left gasping for breath when our time was through

Now I'm caught in a tidal wave
Swept away, left behind in your wake
Don't know how to cry; how to be brave
Your tsunami took all I had to take

Your sea holds a dangerous power
Still so appealing to them all I
have to step away from the edge
Because I cannot afford to fall.

I think maybe I went a little far with the 'sea' metaphors etc, but it just seemed to flow that way. No pun intended!
