I Am, What I Am (Sep 15a)

I am, what I am
and you are, what you are.
We belong to ourselves
and nobody else.

Our souls are our own
and my mind belongs to my mind
and not my life.
Because when we walk this road
we know when we're taking the right way.

I am happy
as you are happy,
but on the inside, you hear
the sounds that are haunting me
and maybe you as well.

And those little brushes of our skin,
define how the mood changes.
From happy to awkward
well, I want all backwards.

I want to be at the top of the mountain
yelling that I completed my goals.
But when I do that
somebody drags me down.
They drag me away from you,
and I fight back.
But I can't make it back.

I am, what I am.
I am myself
and nobody else.

I know my hell
I know it very well,
so let's go to this shell of a body
and poke it's parts
so that it becomes alive
and follow us around the world.

Let's go around the world.
Let's go around my soul.
Inside my whole body
so that you know me
and you get to understand it.
All of its parts
and all of its personalities,
with all of their abnormalities.

You are, what you are.
You are your own mind.
You are your own soul.

You are alive
so carry me, on your shoulders
until the end of the road.
Until your shoulders get hurt.

I know, I know
but it's gonna end soon.
We're gonna be happy soon
whether we're apart,
or united as one mind.

And I hope the sea of life arrives
to take us away of all our lives,
so we return to the sea
and become one entity.
So that we complement each other's mind,
and never be alone again.

Come on, boy, play the cello.
Oh, you play the piano.
Well, play that song you always play,
and change it so that it sounds different every time.

You may play for a long time,
with the same chords,
just varying it up a little,
I don't mind.
I love your talent.
I love your lies.

I love to be with a dog
who's always with me,
and always follows me
through the roads.
Where we're all alone.

In the garden died a girl.
The daughter of a worker.
The daughter of a mother.
The daughter of God
and most importantly,
the daughter of all of us.

I am, what I am.
And you are, what you are.
Accept me,
and I'll accept you.
As we belong to ourselves,
and nobody else.

Our souls are our own
and my mind belongs to my mind,
and not my life.
Because when we walk this road,
we know when we're taking the right way.

AN: It's been a while since I updated this thing. I love this poem in every sense of the world. It seems so honest.

Leave a word if you liked it or not. Don't expect regular updates from this, though.
