i buried my brother like fingers locked
in the wind

whilst they devoured the dust of his
prior being
i put his soul on a skewer

gave it my full, undivided attention, i
did, fastidious and methodical
in my solar-inspired rotations
cooking him above the open engine
of a train

its belly groaned, rusty mechanical screeches
and the noises baked him, my brother---
teased from his spirit the juices of his own
internal ether.

with gears
grinding in my strobemetal stomach
i Ate him

dishonor and all.
