"A Snapsnot of Life"
When I take a glance at the photograph on my desk,
I cannot help but suppress a smile.
I begin to feel nostalgia taking effect,
And as I close my eyes, memories flood my head;
It felt as if I had been transported back in time.
I watch events play itself over:
The characters moving and talking as if acting a play.
Some of the scenes are joyful, while other rueful.
I then start to wonder what significance the past holds,
And I realize that it is all that builds us up.
A photograph is merely a piece of a priceless but valueable artwork.
It is the capturing of a moment in life and time;
A package of emotions waiting to be re-experienced.
It is the past that one cannot change,
A past that we can learn from and remember as memories.
