"Another horrible year." Guido told himself as he went to his first day as a junior at Preston Hills High school. He walked up to the familiar school, which had its beige colored, rectangular shaped office in front. The office was surrounded by pine trees, and a tall flag pole with the American flag on it. Behind the office was a stage which the students called the bowl. The bowl was a small amphitheater with many rows of bench seats. The seats were yellow, and in the center was an aisle way. Surrounding the bowl was the buildings where the classes were. To the left was the cafeteria, in front of the bowl were the science classes, and to the right were the math, English, and history classes. To Guido, it all looked the same as before. His first task was to see what his first class was. The classes of the students were taped on the windows of the cafeteria.
As Guido walked over there, many people looked and stared at him. They all remembered him from the last year, as that weird kid who kept having visions. But it was true; Guido has been having weird visions and dreams lately. They are mostly about how he is different from everybody else. Soon Guido reached the Cafeteria, he saw on the list that his first class was English. Guido groaned as he walked over to the English hall, where his class was. The hall was also connected to the math hall. As Guido entered his class, he saw kids who were already there staring at him. They were probably the same kids from last year. They knew him from the year before. Guido groaned and took his seat. He waited for a few minutes until the bell rang. After awhile the teacher came in the room.
"Alright class, I assume you had a good summer?" The teacher asked. Some of the kids said yes and nodded.
"Great. My name is Mr. Brown. I'll be your English teacher this year."
Mr. Brown took role. He called all the children's names, until he got to one name.
"Beth? Beth?" he asked.
"What is it?" a voice answered. Guido turned his head. He saw that Beth was a somewhat thin looking girl, with long hair that had streaks of green in it, and was wearing black clothes, and bracelets with fake spikes on them.
"Sorry I'm late; I decided to sleep in today." Beth said as she walked into the room.
"Beth, that's not appropriate." Brown told her.
"Well excuuuuuse Me." she said with an annoyed expression on her face.
"Take your seat over there next to Guido." He said pointing to the desk. Beth groaned and sat next to him. Guido turned and looked at her.
"Hey, I'm Guido."
"Ok. And what do you want?"
"I was just saying hi."
"Oh, how nice. Now leave me alone." She said. Guido turned back and faced forward.
The class seemed to pass by quickly, and before he knew it, Guido was packing away his things and onto his next class.
Guido's next class was Biology. Thankfully, it was just a short walk to the next hall, and it was the third door on the right. Guido sat in a desk and waited for the bell to ring. But as he was waiting, he slowly dozed off.
When Guido opened his eyes again, all he could see was the color white, all around.
"Greetings, Guido." A voice said.
"Who are you? Where am I? What is this!?"
"Calm down Guido, this isn't a dream."
"What!? Just get out of my head!"
"Calm down," the voice said. " I am very lucky to speak with you."
"Who are you?" Guido asked again.
"I can't tell you, at least not for another few days."
"Well, you see Guido, it was me who was sending images to you about how you were different."
"Why would you do that!?" Guido asked in an angered tone.
"See, this is why you can't see me." The voice said with a giggle. This wasn't at all amusing to Guido.
"I see. You're worried that I will kick your ass."
"Yeah, I guess you could put it that way."
"And what's more you are probably making me sleep during class."Guido said with a groan.
"No, actually. You are in your class doing just fine."
"What? You mean while I'm here, out there, I am acting normal."
"Now tell me, why are you talking to me?"
"I am not allowed to tell you."
"Just wait until tonight." The voice said. Guido woke up. The bell rang.
That night at the dinner table…
"Guido, are you not feeling well?" his mother asked.
"Why would you think that?
"You haven't touched your food."
"Ehh, I guess I'm not that hungry."
"Well, just finish up, and get some rest."
Guido finished his dinner, took a shower, and went to bed. When he was in bed, he kept thinking about what that voice said. He kept thinking about it until he shut his eyes.
He opened them up again, and he was in the white colored space of nothingness.
"Greetings Guido." The voice said. "You missed me?"
"Hardly." Guido answered. "Now tell me why you are talking to me."
"I can't tell you completely, at least not yet." The voice explained.
"It might be too much of a jolt to your system."
"What, do I have some sort of telekinetic powers?"
"You could say that, yes."
"Is that all?"
"No, you have much more to know."
"What do you mean?"
"I will have to tell you tomorrow night."
"Because only then can we meet in person. Only then will you be ready."
"Okay. And what are you again?"
"Guido, I can only show myself to you, I cannot tell you."
"Alright." Guido said. He woke up. It was morning.
