I want to go back to the old days

Where fun came from playgrounds

And not shopping malls

Where entertainment came from Barbies

And not TVs

Where hats were worn in winter

And not never

Where laughter came from enjoyment

And not other peoples pain

Where ants were admired

And not squashed

Where competition was about beating the other team

And not your friend

Where bed times were respected

And not rebelled

Where siblings were friends

And not enemies

Where obsessions were nothing

And not exaggerated

Where self-consciousness was non-existent

And not every waking thought

I want to go back to the old days

Where life was good and uncaring

And not something to fear.
