Gathered up in rags,

she lies beneath cold ash.

Ice rivers in dark valleys,

across dead temples splash.

-

Dancer's feet in crystal,

lie broken on stone floor.

Shattered is the starlight rod,

to distort the world no more.

his sugared carriage winds.

Beaten and bewildered,

he leaves unknown love behind.

-

Too many woven sentiments,

too many gilded weeds.

Beneath the wooden walkway,

the cinder-maiden bleeds.
