This afternoon,

Our eyes accidentally met.

I thought the moment ended too soon,

but it surely took away my breath.

In two years have I not seen those eyes

Those eyes piercing right though mine.

They've always made me feel intoxicated

As if they were made out of pure wine.

When I saw you looking back at me,

I felt sudden, instinctive glee

And I forgot all the misery

You have brought when you left me.

Then as soon as the moment started,

It was one that we had to end.

It was that excruciating moment

When our paths, once again, had to bend.

When you looked away, I jerked back to reality

And closed that newly-opened door.

'Cause no matter how I hope for a possibility,

I know you don't love me anymore.
