In a castle far away,

A beautiful maiden spent each day,

In a tower, locked away,

Guarded by a dragon, yet to slay.

Day by day came the knights,

And from the day into the nights

Raged the battles and the fights,

Between the dragon and the knights.

And one by one, the knights were slain,

Side by side, their bodies lain,

On show to the world, left displain,

Each battle fought in vain.

And so each night the maiden sleeps

In the castle, she sits and weeps,

And still the dragon keeps

Her locked away, in a darkness deep.

As falls the final knight,

As ends the final fight,

Through each day and every night,

The maiden spends in the castle's heights.
