The Confessions of a Minor Niner

By: Strawberripinkicakes

Day 1.

Oh God, what the hell? Today's the first day of school, and also happens to be laundry day. Mom, what the fuck? Great, so all of my nicer clothes are in the washing machine, and I can't find anything to wear. I have yet to pack my lunch, brush my teeth, wash my face, do my hair and makeup, and pack my school supplies into backpack…Which is somewhere in my room…Crap, where the hell did I put my school supplies?

"Kaori Hanako! Get down stairs and pack your lunch. You're bus gets here at 8:20, so you should at least be at the bus stop 5 minutes ahead of time!" Dad yelled.

"Coming! Holy crap, calm down!" I yelled in frustration.

God, stupid Dad has these spaz attacks. Such a bastard sometimes…I quickly collected my things, threw them in my backpack, put on a t-shirt, jeans and threw in a sweater on top of it.

After 15 minutes of freaking out and rushing, I finally ran downstairs to pack my lunch.

"You're so slow! You're going to be late if you don't hurry up! And you didn't practice piano and violin yesterday!" Dad yelled.

"I don't care! I'm kind of in a rush right now, so shut up and let me continue!" I argued.

"Don't talk back to me! That's disrespectful-"Dad began.

"Yea yea, spare me the guilt speech, I'm late." I said as I sprinted out of the house.

Holy crap, parents are lame. Especially if they are super Asian. I ran to the bus stop and caught up with Miyuki. Miyuki was my best friend since preschool, and always wore a skirt, no matter what the season. Today she seemed to have made herself wear some more decent clothes. Her hair was died a light brown colour, braces were gone, and contacts were in.

"Holy shit, what happened to you?" I asked as I walked next to her.

"Well, I decided I need to look better for high school. My mom bought me some contacts the other day, as an early birthday present." She replied casually.

"Ha, cool." I said while rolling my eyes.

"What's with you today, you seem pissed off?" she asked.

"Ugh, never mind. I got new phone though, it actually fits into my pocket now. That stupid mother thing was like a brick. And they finally got me a text plan." I replied.

"That's awesome, then we can text each other in class!" she said excitedly.

" no." I replied with annoyance in my voice.

"Holy crap Kaori, what's with you?" Miyuki asked.

"Whatever, nevermind." I said, cutting her off.

I climbed onto the bus and sat in the very back. Miyuki looked like she wanted to join me, and didn't at the same time. The most popular girl at our school last year was motioning for Miyuki to come and sit beside her. I glanced at Miyuki giving her a death glare. Miyuki looked back and mouthed "sorry." Oh God, what in the world happened during the summer? I was at music camp (COMPLETE TORTURE) while Miyuki got a job at the community pool, probably with Mayumi Hashimoto. Mayumi was a total bitch. Ever since grade 3, she was always the prettiest, meanest and smartest. She knew how to make an entrance, she knew how to put others down, she knew just about everything except for being nice.

"Hey, can I sit here?" a male voice asked.

"Uh, sure. I don't care." I answered as I pulled out a book. Oh my god, I was sitting next to some hot stranger. He had the most amazing coloured hazel eyes, and dark chocolate brown hair. He didn't look very Japanese to me. He seemed like he was half.

"Hey, um I'm Kazuki Hikaru. I just moved here like last week." He said while smiling.

"Yea, pleasure. Kaori Hanako." I replied not even looking up.

"Oh, we have the same initials, that's sick." He said trying to start a conversation.

"Cool, haven't realized that." I replied swiftly.

"May, I ask what book you're reading?" He said while looking over at me interested.

"Death Note. It's a manga, not just a book." I answered.

"I've seen the anime before, it was pretty epic." He said while laughing.

"Yea, I guess, but the manga is way better." I replied.

And then, our long conversation began. We talked on and on about how pointless some anime's were, and how Black Ops was better than Warfare2. By the time we got to school we switched numbers and where talking like we were old friends.

"Hey, Kaori, sorry for ditching you earlier. Mayumi wanted me to sit beside her." Miyuki said.

"Yea, yea. Whatever." I answered.

"Oh my god, you are so lucky, I saw you talking with that hot guy." She squealed.

"Yea, sure. He's cool. We both like Death Note, play C.O.D, and have the same initials." I said casually.

"Holy crap, you're so lucky!!!" Miyuki screamed again.

"Miyuki, let's go, don't bother talking to her." A voice said.

"Oh hey, Mayumi. Um, I was just leaving." Miyuki answered.

And off they went together. Kazuki Hikaru later caught up to me. We looked at our schedules and compared them. We had 3 classes together, which was pretty awesome. Not to mention, we were in the same homerooms.

Later…

Class was so long, I was about to fall over after 2nd period. It was lunch break now, so I decided to eat in the cafeteria. I looked around and saw Miyuki laughing with Mayumi and the rest of her clones. Nowhere to sit…

"So how was 2nd period?" Kazuki-kun asked.

"Agh, boring as hell." I replied.

"Nah, hell is probably more fun than 2nd period math." He joked.

"Probably. Where to sit?" I asked.

"I really don't care. How about at that empty table back there?" He pointed out.

"Sure, have you made any new friends?" I asked while pulling out a chair.

"Eh, not really. I'm new, so I guess people don't really want to know me." He smiled. Dimples!!!!

"Hn." I replied. I looked at Miyuki's table and Mayumi was looking over at ours. She was looking at him. No duh. The she poked one of her friends and motioned for her to look in our direction. The both started laughing and giggling.

"You do know that-" I began.

"Those weird girls are looking at me? Yea." He finished.

"Yep." I said awkwardly.

"Walking, talking breathing Barbies. That's all they are. Not to mention, venomous. We had girls like that at my old school. Really annoying." He said while rolling his eyes.

We laughed about random stuff together the entire lunch break. School was soon over, and surprisingly I actually made a new friend. Even if he was a guy, a guy with no taste obviously. I mean, who wants to talk to me? I'm Bor with a capital ING. My hair was shoulder length, my eyes were a boring brown colour, and I looked like the "before" girl in those stupid girly magazines. God, head ache. "Take a chance" was a little quote we analysed in English class. Suddenly, I thought of something. I ran into my garage and pulled out my brother's skate board. I tried to do the trick he showed me last week. Ha, you can guess the end result. Ouch.

Note to self.

Taking chances will just give you a bruise the size of a baseball on your knee. FML.
