The girl that I had decided must be the third Saya knitted her eyebrows at me, looked down at her shimmering gown and said nothing. I sloshed the rest of the way to the shore while my other sister leaped lightly from the dock on to the sand.
"Well I arrived just before you so I suppose introductions are in order. My name is Aquia. Which is similar to aqua but with an 'i' in it."
I waited looking with raised eyebrows at both of my sisters. Neither of spoke up right way. Finally I nudged the blonde sister that I had seen on the dock. She smiled, cleared her throat, and took a deep breath.
"Hi! My name is Mia which means something like 'mine'. Also my parents are Zeus, Hera, Apollo, and Hermes. I like sunlight and laughing. I can run fast and fly."
Mia took a deep breath while I nodded slowly and my last sister just tilted her head upward a few degrees then dropped it again. She smiled at the other sister, waiting for her life story. I spoke up after a moment of silence.
"Are you going to say anything?"
Mia let out a very intelligent, "Huh?"
"That is my name. Destiria."
"So it's not sparkles?" I smirked.
Mia perked up, "Oh! Can I call you Dessi?"
"Are you going to tell us anything else about yourself?"
"Do you always say no?"
"Fair enough I suppose."
"Who are your parents?" Mia asked, raising herself on to her toes just to get that much closer to Destiria.
"Does it matter?" Destiria still spoke to her toes, her dark hair falling in front of her face. Is she trying to be annoying or is she dumb enough to think that I can't figure out who her parents are? "If you had an ounce of brains you could figure it out yourself." Her voice was monotone and not very loud but still snide.
"Well, Mia's parents are Zeus, Hera, Apollo, and Hermes. My parents are Poseidon, Demeter, Athena, and Artemis. Which means, and I'm just taking a shot in the dark here, your parents are Hades, Ares, Hephaestus, and Aphrodite."
"Woh," Mia looked at Aquia with wide eyes," Your mom is Aphrodite? But you're not pretty!"
Destiria lifted her head and glared at Mia with the most peculiar eyes I had ever seen. They were dark brown like the most fertile soil, to perfect almond halves sliced by a red scar of nondrying blood. Her stare emanated coldness, not an emotion, only cold.
"Hey Dessi, you have something in your eyes."
Destiria looked like she didn't know whether Mia was making a bad joke or being literal. But then Mia took one step to be right in Destiria's face and peered curiously into her eyes.
"Scratched through the corneas right to the lenses, most likely done by a smooth edged blade. Lovely work."
Mia stepped back, seeming pleased with herself. Definitely a child of Apollo.
I looked to Destiria and Mia and suddenly realized that we were an unbeatable team. Mia was healer, Destiria was a fighter, and I, I was a leader.
A/N: I'm back! Sorry guys but Sophomore year has kicked my butt so far. The chapter would have been longer if A and I could have remembered half of our jokes.
