A new story! I'm afraid I haven't been on this website for a while as I've been sorting out a few books I'm trying to publish. I won't post them up on this website, as there are people who will make a copy and take all the credit. To people like that: You suck.
I was listening to Ministry's song 'Never Believe' and 'Breathe' while writing this, so that gave me inspiration. It's a stupid title for a story, so if you have a better suggestion, please tell me!
Enjoy this story!
You and Your Demon
Chapter 1 : Forever
"He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby becomes a monster... and if you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss gases also into you." - Mark Twain
Pixie, I've been waiting for you...
"Did someone call me?" I asked over the music of the club. The vibrations were causing my ears to go numb, and the heat was making me feel woozy. Not one of my friends took notice, they were all too busy talking to drunk perverts.
Feeling tired yet? Your mother told you not to go out...
The voice was next to me, whispering in my ear, but no-body was concentrating on me. The only people around were the ones grinding their bodies together. A few got carried away and started snogging or ran into the bathrooms. The voice was laughing now, and I didn't know what to do. I could hear the evil cackles of the voice, even though the music was up full blast.
No, you're not tired. I can feel it. You're scared. I can feel my voice making your body tremble, the way it did the first time I invaded your mind...
I had to get out. I was scared. But what was that about my mother?
I didn't bother grabbing for any of my friends, they had their own problems. I ran out of the dance hall, down the steps and out into the frost-bitten night air. The oxygen would have been refreshing, but there was an icy embrace about the atmosphere. In a desperate attempt to get warmer, I hugged my arms and started to quicken the pace. After jogging two roads away from the club, I knelt to take of my red satin high heels. The only trouble with heels is that you have to endure pain to look and walk right in them. My house was only a few roads away from this one, and I could probably walk a block or two without shoes on.
But could you run?...
Strange. The voice was calmer, less... hungry. Even though the voice had gotten calmer, what did it mean by 'run'? I checked my surroundings. No one was near. Run from what? I carried on walking, shivering once more.
I snapped around. The same voice. Not in my head, this time...
"Who's there?" I shouted, trying to stand my ground.
"Hello?" I whimpered. There was still no one there. "Must be my stupid mind." I sighed.
"Ok, I'm being serious. You're pissing me off now. Where are you?" I screamed. I didn't run. I was too annoyed to run.
Just then, a bright, electric light came from the distance. Far away at first, which then grew, becoming closer and closer. I felt the Earth shudder beneath the soles of my feet.
Ok, it's quite short, but I just wanted to set the scene.
I'll update as soon as possible, which will be within the next week, I PROMISE!
