Well, here's the first chapter! Since everyne enjoyed Commanders so much I hope everyone will like Kalla's POV in the sequel. Hope you enjoy and review!!! :)

She burst through the door with a laugh, meeting her brother's mate just in the foyer they hugged tightly, both laughing at her frantic pace. "Sorry I'm late… final exams; traffic was horrible…I didn't miss anything did I…"

Twylla smiled at her mate's sister…thinking once again how she had grown into such a vivacious and lovely woman. She shook her head…her mate, Brinn wouldn't agree with her observation that his sister was in fact a woman…he would insist she was still just a girl…and Twylla refused to remind him that Kalla was now as old as she had been when she had first come to be with he and his lieutenant Ky.

"Brinn and Ky aren't even home yet," Twylla reassured her, amused when Kalla's shoulders dropped in relief.

"Good…," she laughed, "That way we can talk…before they get here," she mused. Twylla was her brother's mate yes…but she was also her best friend…and in some ways a mother she had never known. "Where are all the monsters…" she glanced around, looking for her nephews and niece, Aaren, Jaylen and little Malaina…who was just starting to toddle along after her brothers.

"Nap…" Twylla mused with a sigh of relief. "Marriel's in the kitchen…let's go there…you look like you need a cup of something…and with all the excitement…I know I do…"

Kalla nodded, looping her arm about Twylla's waist, the woman did the same to her and they strolled into the kitchen, where Marriel immediately set upon her Kalla mused, as if she hadn't seen her in months…when in fact it was only a few weeks since she had come home for a short weekend visit.

The summer months beckoned her back to the lake house…since Brinn and his family now resided there permanently, he and Ky having risen in rank to the Supreme Command Center on Bolaris, she wanted to spend her time in the home she had grown up in…seeing it filled with children…and family…she found herself unable to wait until she could find free time from her grueling studies to be there with them.

"How are things…" Twylla asked, sitting down at the table, Marriel passed them both cool mugs of Cardasian tea.

"Fine," Kalla shrugged, sipping hers, "Studies are hard…but it's to be expected…I can't believe in another year I'll be finished…" she mused. She had completed secondary school early…and started her collegiate education at merely seventeen. Now at twenty…she had only one year to complete her Chief Medic training…and then she would be launched on her own career…her own woman…she smiled at the prospect.

"We're so proud of your hard work," Twylla assured her. Brinn was as well…but such things were harder for him to admit…feelings that was. She smiled a little to herself…in five years of being mated…he still had trouble telling her how much he loved her…though she knew he did…it always seemed easier for him to admit to such emotions when he was pounding her into the sheets it seemed…overcome by passion.

"Did brother tell you to tell me that," Kalla grinned, knowing her formidable brother. He loved her…he was proud of her…but he had a hard time telling her. She didn't begrudge him…it was sort of funny…how a man so staid and direct, could feel so ill at ease discussing his feelings.

Twylla smiled shaking her head. Kalla knew her brother well. "No…but I know he does…he brags about you all the time…" she admitted, Kalla laughed. "So…school is going well…what about…a…boy…" Twylla gave her a wicked glance, "Anyone we'll be meeting soon…?"
Kalla blushed and shook her head. She had talked to Twylla about her first experience with a man…though it was an absolute secret from her brother. He would likely pop something if he knew she'd experimented a bit. But she was too busy for anything serious…though she had recently started spending time with a young man named Kegan…and they had…been intimate a time or two…she wasn't sure he was the one for her…merely a passing infatuation she told Twylla, who laughed at her, making her blush yet again when she said it was more a matter of lust than love. Still Kalla supposed it was true.

Kegan wasn't the sort of man who turned a woman's head with his devastating looks or even a great body. He was a bookish sort…very intelligent…which was what first brought him to her notice. He wasn't cocky or arrogant; in fact sometimes his almost clingy personality turned her off a bit. But he wasn't a Dom in bed…something she didn't want any part of. In her younger years she had almost been forced into sex by a Dominating, masochistic sort and she found that her tastes didn't run toward the demanding, commanding type of man. But sometimes…when she lay alone in her bed…her mind would wander over fantasies of what it would be like…with a man who would command her…force her submission…but still be gentle with her at the same time. Was there such a thing?

"Why didn't you bring him with you," Twylla asked, as Kalla told her about the boy she was seeing…instantly Kalla frowned at her and Twylla laughed. "Never mind…Brinn…"

"Brinn what…" the object of their amusement strode into the kitchen, Ky at his heels, he snatched Kalla off her chair and hugged her hard, while Ky waited his turn. "Don't you two be in here plotting…there's enough chaos around here as it is…" he warned his mate, letting go his sister he swept her up, kissing her long and hard, leaving her weak-kneed and breathing hard.

Ky moved in on Kalla, hugging her, even as he laughed at his commander, "Up to mischief are we," he asked. Yup…their girls usually were when they were together.

"No," Kalla sighed, watching Ky hug Twylla, kissing her forehead. "Just talking…you know…girl things…"

Brinn grunted, Ky grinned, she blushed and Twylla to her surprise blurted out, "Kalla has a boyfriend…"

Kalla shook her head, seeing her brother's hot gaze settle on her. She gave Twylla a look fraught with annoyance, "He's not my boyfriend…he's…just a friend…I don't have time for…"

"Damn right you don't…" Brinn interrupted, shaking his head, he still eyed her hard, "Don't make me come beat the shit out of him…"

Kalla shook her head, casting a pleading look to Twylla, who was still grinning. She had done that on purpose Kalla realized. "Sir…Kalla's a woman now…surely she can have a male friend…or two…" she glanced up at Ky who was frowning, shaking his head at her not to continue that current thought.

"No she can't," Brinn grouched, his dark hair lighting his eyes, which were rapidly changing from a pale blue…to near black, "She's still just a girl…she has plenty of time to worry about men…and fucking…and mating…"

Kalla blushed at his frank speech, Ky chuckled, she glanced at him, seeing him shaking his head. "Gods brother…you're such an old fashioned…if not blunt, somewhat obtuse…"

"What did you call me," he asked, stepping toward her, she backed away with a giggle, "Old fashioned…?" She knew that wasn't the word that had annoyed him.
"I'm not obtuse…but I am blunt…and you're too young to be fucking around with any old male who has a cock young lady," he grouched. He wanted to turn her over his knee, he realized. Bolaris was a culture where sex was not taboo…any kind of sex…was openly discussed and allowed. Still…the thought of his innocent…sweet little sister…? It made his blood boil.

Kalla nearly suffocated in her blush. Gods…another reason she didn't need a Dominate male…they were too blunt for her. "Ky," she blurted out, "I brought my Doreeling anatomy book…I need you to go over some things with me I'm not too clear on…" she had to change the subject she knew. Doreeling anatomy was tough…and she did need help, Ky being a medic himself he thoroughly enjoyed helping her when it came to alien anatomy, his own preferred fieled of study…but she hadn't planned on being so insistent on it…not until now at least.

"Sure baby girl," he offered, releasing Twylla from his grip he ordered a mug of ale from the food processing unit and handed it to Brinn while he ordered himself one. "I'll be glad to help…"

Kalla nodded, giving Twylla another glare, but the woman only smiled at her and shrugged. Brinn would have to come to grips with the fact that Kalla was growing up…she had told him this repeatedly, but he refused to hear it. The sound of feet running down the stairs and a loudly wailed 'Maamaaa…' echoed down the stairs into the kitchen and Twylla sighed.

"Remind them again not to run," she insisted to Brinn as she headed up the back stairs for Malaina…who still slept in a crib. She smiled a little when she heard both boys burst out in unison at the sight of the 'fathers' being home already and Kalla too.

"You're mother has told you not to run down the stairs…how many times now…" she heard the commander chiding, but she could bet he was smiling when he said it. She shook her head wondering what they were going to say when she told them she thought she was pregnant… again…she chuckled softly with a shrug…they had decided on a large family.

Kalla looked at the boys, amused that it was so obvious who belonged to whom…Aaren with his serious expression and eyes so like hers and Brinn's…it was obvious even in his actions and his way of speaking he was her brother's child…Jaylen on the other hand was always smiling…always laughing and causing some sort of mischief…his eyes were green like his mother's…but heavily tinted with gold…like both his mother and father…his thatch of unruly brown hair said it all. Malaina she mused, watching Twylla carrying her down the stairs…was the very image of her mother…nothing about her hinted of Brinn or Ky…she was all Twylla…a sweet, contemplative little thing, always into something it now seemed since she was mobile…she was her father's pride and joy…both of them.

"Hey pretty baby…" Ky crooned, taking the little girl from Twylla to give her a big loud kiss on a chubby cheek…she gave him a big toothy smile while drool dribbled down her dimpled chin, "You been good for Mama today…?"
"She ate soap," Aaren informed them all as Brinn chuckled and ruffled the boy's dark hair, "Then she bit me 'cause I took it away from her…" he eyed his little sister with outright disdain.

"I told you about that Aaren," Twylla reminded him gently, "She's a baby…she doesn't know better…"

"She needs teachin' better…" the boy grumbled and Kalla had to laugh at his disgruntled expression, so like her brother's.

She loved being here…there was always laughter and noise and bustle with three kids running about. She glanced at Twylla who was helping Marriel now to remove things from the oven and prepare for the guests they were having. It was Brinn's birthday…Twylla had insisted on a party…even though he had not been so easy to convince and agreed only after she assured him it would be close friends only. Merik was coming with d'Erwin…Jedis and his family… Ky's brother and his wife and kids…some of his colleagues from work…and he'd called a halt to the list there.

"Papa…" Malaina crowed, pointing at Brinn, waving her chubby arms and laughing and Ky handed her over, smiling when she snuggled her pert little baby nose into Brinn's neck. "Dada…" she jerked her head up, narrowly missing Brinn's chin, pointed at Ky and laughed, holding out her arms to him.

"Oh no you little tease," Ky laughed, "We're not playing that game…back and forth…I know your tricks," he pressed a kiss to her pink cheek and she clapped her hands and crowed with laughter, while Brinn merely bounced her a little and chuckled.

"The two of you spoil her dreadfully," Twylla insisted, eying them as she walked by with a tray, "Aaren you and Jaylen go pick up your toys in the living room," she told them, hearing Aaren mutter something under his breath, she ignored it…Brinn did not.

"Aaren…do what your mother says…" he ordered and the boy scuffed his toe against the floor and trudged off toward the living room.

"Come on Jaylen…you hafta help…"

Jaylen grinned, wrapped his arms around Ky's leg and looked up at him, just three years old he was a sweet little moppet…but he could be a handful. "Daddy…I gotta pee…"

He had been the hardest so far to potty train…and it had amused Kalla to no end to see how people scrambled over those three little words…her own brother included. She bit back a laugh as Ky grabbed his hand and started all but running for the nearest facility. "Hold on…can you wait…just…wait…"

She laughed when he was out of earshot…she couldn't help it. She heard Brinn snort…Malaina mocked him then laughed and he grinned and shook his head. "How many more you guys planning on having," Kalla couldn't help but ask, it was amazing and amusing to see how positively Domestic her brother was nowadays.

Brinn shrugged, kissing Malaina on top of the head. She turned and looked up at him, clasping his cheeks in her drool soaked hands and laughed, "As many as Twylla wants," he admitted, thinking this was likely the prettiest child he or Ky had managed to produce…those lovely green eyes…that red-gold hair that already hung to her shoulders in soft baby curls. "In fact…she thinks we don't know it yet…but I believe she's caught…again…"

Kalla shook her head. Leave it to Brinn to know. With every pregnancy Twylla had had so far…he was worse than she was…puking in the sauna right along with her for the first three months then by himself for the next six…not to mention his odd choices of food. Ky on the other hand…he was a rock…until it was time for the actual birth…when Aaren was born…they'd had to carry him out because he'd passed out…with Jaylen…he'd fainted and cracked his head open needing stitches…with Malaina…Brinn had made him sit in a chair the whole time and not move. So much for his being a dauntless medic, still it was so amusing…she could admit…how two grown men could be such wimps when it came to their mate.

"Wow…" Kalla mused, thinking of her sister…no one could guess she'd had three kids already…by looking at her. She still looked as young as a girl…and just as willowy and slim of figure. Kalla envied her…her beauty…her natural grace and sweet charm. Anyone who met Twylla loved her almost instantly.

"Yeah," Brinn agreed. Who would have thought he liked this sort of thing. Drool on his face…crumbs on his clothes…stepping over toys in the middle of the floor and little bodies flung out across the rug….that grabbed at his legs and hung on tight…looking up with sweet and trusting eyes. But he did…he loved it…he and Ky coming home to their babies…and bond-mate. Maybe he was just getting mellow as he aged…but he didn't care…he was content…he was happy. "It'll be you one day," he told her, his gaze meeting hers over top Malaina's head, as she bent forward to lick and chew on the braid at his shoulder, "Just promise me it's not going to be anytime soon…I know I was a jerk earlier…but just promise you'll finish school and start your career…before you make any decisions about settling down…"

Kalla nodded. Her brother was getting sedate on her, she mused, not about to tease him…because he could be just as blunt…he'd proved that already. "I'm not in a hurry," she admitted then shrugged, "Kegan is just a friend," she assured him, getting his frown anyway, "Besides…all your little monsters scare me enough that I'm not sure I even wants kids," she laughed, taking Malaina from him she knew she was lying. She loved the sweet baby smell…she loved the clinging hands and the soft hair and the lovely sounds they made when they slept. But she wasn't crazy…she wasn't ready for motherhood…and doubted she could do it as well as Twylla did anyway.

"Papa…" Aaren stomped back into the kitchen, "Jaylen didn't help…he was 'spose to help…"

"I know," Brinn told him, "But you were a big boy and cleaned up for your Mama…didn't you?"

Aaren nodded, gripping his father's hand, "But next time he hasta do it by himself..."

Brinn nodded, looking down at his mirror image. Still…it didn't matter that one child was his and another Ky's or vice versa…they were Papa and Daddy…and they both loved their 'little monsters' as Kalla called them.

"Bye bye…" Malaina chirped, waving a chubby hand, "Bye….bye…"

"I think she wants her afternoon walk," Brinn mused, looking at his sister, "Twylla usually takes them outside this time of day…if the weather's good…"

Kalla nodded. "I'll go today…it'll keep them out of everyone's hair for a while…."

He nodded, as Aaren let go of him for Kalla's hand, "We're going outside with you aunt Kalla," he asked, giving her that serious look he always wore, as if he weren't sure some things were such a good idea.

"Yes Aaren…is that OK…" Kalla asked and he nodded emphatically.

"Can we go without Jaylen…?"

She had to laugh.

She kept them outside until Twylla came for them saying it was time for baths. That got her two groans, but she reminded them they had guests coming for their Papa's birthday and both boys, who had been contentedly digging in the dirt nodded, while Malaina, who had been trying to help them and not fall down too much smiled up at her mother with a handful of dirt on her way to her mouth.

"Oh dear…" Twylla laughed, grabbing a grubby, chubby hand to pry out the fistful of dirt. Malaina protested and let go an indignant baby roar, homing in with a mouthful of new teeth on her mother's hand. "NO…" Twylla insisted firmly, just before the baby could latch on, "No biting…" Malaina started to wail with utter frustration

"I'm sorry Twylla…I shouldn't have let them get so dirty," Kalla offered, as Twylla lifted her daughter onto her hip, while the little girl still howled as if the world were ending. Kalla grimaced…no…she wasn't ready for babies.

"As if you could help it," Twylla smiled, nonplussed by her daughters' shrieks, "Boys…go find your daddy and tell him Mama needs help…" she winked at Kalla who gave her a quizzical look.

Both boys didn't hesitate and went flying up the terrace steps through the back entrance to the living area…yelling like banshees. "Don't….run up the steps," Twylla sighed shaking her head, but they were gone before she'd even finished the thought. She and Kalla turned to head into the house and Ky's voice floated out to them from somewhere inside.

"Ugghh…Twylla…" he shouted, "Good Gods woman…they're filthy…"

Twylla laughed, "He's flinging them both under an arm about now and heading for the sauna in the nursery," she rolled her eyes, and Kalla could hear hysterical laughter from the boys, "He's so disgusted by dirt on his little darlings…"

Kalla laughed. That was one way to get help in bathing the three little monsters. Malaina was still wailing…but there were no tears and Twylla continued to ignore her, meeting Brinn coming out of his downstairs office, he frowned. "What's the matter pretty baby…" he crooned, eyeing his mate who frowned at him, as he took the wailing, dirty baby, who snuggled her head on his shoulder, popping an equally dirty thumb in her mouth, giving Twylla a look of triumph the wailing abruptly ceased to Kalla's amusement.

"Eating dirt…trying to bite…that's what's wrong with her," Twylla insisted, frowning at her mate, "And it doesn't help that you and Ky laugh at her and spoil her…"

Brinn grinned. "She can't help she's just like her mother…" he turned and headed toward the stairs, "Liking to bite that is…"

Twylla flushed darkly and Kalla turned her back so as not to laugh. "Only once…only once did I bite him…and you'd think…" she caught herself and didn't say anymore and Kalla schooled her features. "Now that I have the time…I'm going to shower and change," Twylla smiled a little and Kalla knew she'd just wrangled herself some free time, "The guests will be here in about an hour…"

Kalla nodded, "Me too…I think I'm just as dirty as the boys," she smiled, holding up her hands where she had been making 'mountains' with her nephews. Twylla laughed and nodded…no one was ever clean around the boys…no matter how hard Ky tried.
