Why did I say yes? Why hadn't I changed my mind and stayed with the original idea? Why is he getting the wrong impression? Why couldn't I have ditched my brother's band instead of staying? I asked myself why over and over again, hoping I'd learn why. Maybe I could live with this. I'd have to deal with it until then. But they can't change my mind…
2 weeks earlier.
I sat in the middle of my brother and one of his best friends, my knees pulled up to my chest. I didn't want a new drummer. I liked our old one better. He was mine. We dated for about a month then his mom wanted to move(who knows why) away. I wasn't the only one who was upset. My brother and the rest of the band was upset too. I broke it off with Peter a few days before he moved just so I wouldn't get my heartbroken. Sure I was upset about it all. I cried myself to sleep countless nights. But I didn't want him to break my heart. I only did it to be safe. He understood but he didn't like it either.
"Rocky, hey." Jason said, waving his hand in front of my face.
I blinked myself back to the moment then looked up at him through my red bangs. "What?"
"You're daydreaming again."
"Really?" I mumbled.
He just nodded.
"She's just tired. It's been a long night for her." Jared mocked, rolling his eyes.
I elbowed him. "My sleep problems have nothing to do with my daydreaming issues."
He rolled his eyes again. "Right."
I stood up from my spot just a cute boy walked in. He smirked at me so I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms over my chest. "I'll be back later. Have fun without me."
"Where are you going?"
"Where does it look like I'm going?" I yelled from the kitchen. I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge then pushed myself up onto the counter with my good arm. Two weeks ago I got into a fight with one of my brothers and stormed off to my room. I tried to sneak out but I fell out the window, landing on my arm.
"What's up with her?"
"That's our sister, Rocky." Jason said.
"Her real names Ramona."
Preston nodded. "Yeah."
Dylan just nodded, a smile growing on his face.
"Tell me that isn't her." Someone said from the living room.
I rubbed my eyes as I walked down the hall. Due to my irregular sleep patterns, I fell asleep right after lunch time. It was around seven now and I was waking up again.
"Oh, that's her alright." Preston said, amused, from the living room too.
"What are you doing?" I asked as I walked down the steps, still in my pajamas.
The cute boy from the auditions looked up at me but didn't say anything. Only smirked.
"Baby pictures. You remember this?" Preston asked, holding up the picture.
I shook my head. "Not really." I walked into the kitchen and took a seat at the table across from Jason. My pounding head collapsed onto my arm and I groaned.
I nodded and groaned again. "I only got seven hours of sleep. I was rooting for twelve."
"You have school tomorrow."
"I know." I mumbled into my arm.
"Want me to stay up with you?"
I shook my head. "I'll be fine."
"Dylan's staying the night."
"Dyl… who?" I asked, lifting my head so I could look at Jason.
"The new drummer."
I rolled my eyes.
"Look, I know you didn't want anyone to replace Peter."
"That was his place. You can't replace him."
"But we did. It was your idea to keep the band going."
"I was out of it when I told you guys that. You know how I get when I don't get sleep."
"Yeah, I do."
My eyes started drifting shut and I rubbed my eyes.
"Come on. Time for bed." Jason said standing up.
"Carry me." I mumbled.
"You can walk."
"Yeah, and I can break my face. But we don't want that."
He rolled his eyes and picked me up. "Sleep on the couch tonight."
"Kay." I mumbled as he laid me down. I rolled onto my side before I passed out.
"What's up with her?" Dylan asked, nudging to Rocky, a.k.a. Ramona.
"Oh, she has sleeping problems. It happened after her dad died."
Preston nodded and crossed his arms over his chest. "He never married my mom and never lived with us but he was her dad. He died in a car accident. She was scared for life after that."
"Sorry for the loss, dude."
"Oh, it's fine. Just don't bring it up around Rocky. I never got to know him but he was always nice to her."
"Your mom never brought him home?"
Preston shook his head. "She only did when Jason and I were out."
Ok so, Jason and Preston are twins, both being 17 years old. Jason has black hair, light skin, and green eyes. Preston has brown hair, somewhat tan skin, and blue eyes. Jason is more athletic than Preston is but Preston is much smarter.
I, Ramona(Rocky) Henderson, am only 15 years old. I have brown hair like Preston, light skin, and brown eyes like my dad did. I'm about 5'2, an entire foot shorter than my brothers. Jason and I are in a band, Just As Sweet. I being the lead singer and Jason being the guitar player. His friend, Kendall, is the bassist.
So I've started a new story. I'm really liking this one. I hope you do too.
