I cannot wake to

See the sunrise

Because I would much rather

Spend my mornings

Tightly bundled up in

My blankets

In my bed

And ignore the morning sunshine but

A blaring from my radio

Shrieks shrilly through

My pillows reaching for

My ears

And a knocking and a shout

Pounding on my door

"Time to wake up

And face the world,

(If you'd grace us

With your presence)"

But I think I'd

Rather sleep and

Deny you just this

So I fumble for the

And submerge myself

In sleep,

In dreams,

In bed.
