Chapter 2: The Prince

After the long day in detention, doing nothing but homework, Amaya and Akira walked out together to Akira's car. "Sorry for getting you in trouble," Amaya said.

"Quit saying that," Akira said, "I just helped you out."

"And for that, you were punished," Amaya said. Akira rolled his eyes and got into the car. Amaya climbed into the passenger's side and clicked in her seatbelt. Akira drove Amaya toward her house. When they passed the front of the school, Amaya saw someone really familiar walking down the sidewalk.

"Akira, look!" she exclaimed. Akira looked at the guy she was talking about.

"He looks just like Prince Takumi!" she exclaimed excitedly, "Stop the car for a second!"

"Amaya can we not—"

"Just for a second!" Amaya interrupted. Akira sighed in disbelief and pulled over. Amaya got out, camera and all, and stood in front of the stranger who looked almost exactly like Prince Takumi, except as a real person.

"Hey," Amaya said, "you look exactly like Prince Takumi, can I get a picture?"

"Uh," the guy said, "do you know where I am?" Amaya snapped a picture of the guy. "Yeah, you're in front of the school… duh," she said.

"What's your name?" Amaya asked.

"Takumi Takasu, heir to the throne of the kingdom of Eris," he said. Amaya grinned, "You sound exactly like him too! Just wait 'til I tell Akira!" she said.

"Like who?" he asked.

"The real Takumi of course," she said, "You just did a perfect impersonation of him!"

"Real Takumi?" he asked.

"Yeah!"

Akira watched Amaya talk to 'Takumi'. She looked really excited. Akira took a closer look at the guy and an image of Amaya's drawings popped in his head. He unzipped her backpack and pulled out a random notebook. Akira flipped through it quickly and stopped on a page with Prince Takumi on it. Akira looked at the guy and back at the drawing. Amaya was right… He looked exactly like Prince Takumi down to the little sparkling necklace he wore that had the council emblem on it. "Holy…" he whispered.

"Can you tell me where I am?" Takumi asked.

"In front of the school," Amaya replied happily.

"How do I get back to the castle?" he asked.

"You know, you don't have to be totally in character in front of me. Just go back how you got here," Amaya said. Takumi looked at her in confusion.

"I don't know how I got here. I was just going to meet Reyna to tell her about the council, and I appeared here," Takumi said.

"Seriously, where are you headed?" Amaya asked. The car window rolled down and Akira whispered her name. Amaya looked at him, annoyed and yet irritated. Akira shook her drawing at her. She squinted at it and Akira pointed to the necklace. Amaya didn't understand him, but knew what he was talking about when the sun made his necklace sparkle.

"Whoa," she said, getting a hold of his necklace, "where'd you get that? I looked everywhere for one that looked so real. Takumi grabbed her hand and pushed it away from him, making her drop the necklace.

"That's mine," he said.

"Right, like you're the real Prince Takumi come to life," Amaya said sarcastically.

"Huh?" Takumi replied. Could it be the day her dream came true? Had her wishing star finally granted her wish. Amaya had always believed in fairytales. There was only one way to find out.

"That's Akira Kawasaki, here, get in Akira's car," Amaya said, opening the back door. Takumi looked at it warily, but stepped in.

"What are you doing?" Akira hissed as Amaya entered. Amaya replied giddily, "It's the real prince." Akira frowned, not trusting this guy, but driving on anyway.

"If you're the real prince," Amaya said, "I'll give you a quiz only the real prince would know all the answers to. Question number one, what is the name of the first royal advisor who lived in the castle with the royal family?"

"How do you even know that?" Takumi asked.

"She knows everything about you," Akira replied sarcastically, even though he knew something funny was up. This guy sounded somewhat sincere.

"Just answer it," Amaya said.

"Lonike Moruser the third," Takumi replied suspiciously, "How do I know you just don't want information about me?"

"Because she already knows everything that has to do with you," Akira replied.

"Quiet, Akira. That one was easy, but how about this one? What's your favorite color?" Amaya asked.

"Gold, not like real gold, but like—"

"Like the gold of the sun setting behind the sea," Amaya finished for him.

"Tell me why you know this stuff," Takumi demanded. Akira smirked at the authority in his voice. This was really not happening.

"Because I've seen every single episode so far," Amaya said.

"Because you're from the popular anime hit, Prince Takumi," Akira said, hovering his right hand over the e-brake for safety. He really didn't trust this guy.

"What are you talking about?" Takumi asked, "Stop the vehicle!" Akira gladly pulled over into a parking lot. They were outside the grocery store.

"Something happened and you appeared in this world, but I'll make sure you return as soon as possible," Akira said.

"No, Akira!" she changed her tone at Takumi, "Takumi-sama, don't worry, I'll take care of you." Takumi stepped out of the car.

"Takumi-san—" Amaya said as he shut the door. Amaya looked as if she would go out after him, but Akira held her arm.

"Amaya, let him think for a bit. Tell me everything that happened today that didn't happen any other day. Something's up," Akira said.

"Well, we had detention," Amaya said, looking at Akira. Akira's hazel eyes were distant. Akira's hazel eyes clashed with his black hair.

"Anything else?" he asked, "What happened in detention?"

"Homework, oh and I talked to that Okita girl," Amaya said. Akira nodded.

"What are you thinking?" Amaya asked. Akira shook his head and grinned at her.

"That your dream has finally come true, so you can stop daydreaming now." Amaya rolled her eyes and got out of the car. Akira smiled sadly at her empty seat. He needed to talk with the weird girl. Amaya and Takumi came back and he dropped off Amaya at her house, promising her that he'd get Takumi a place to stay. Akira drove away from Amaya's house. Akira parked in front of the motel and turned off his engine. He twisted around to face Takumi. "What are you doing here?" Akira asked. He needed answers. "That's what I'd like to know," Takumi said. Akira sighed. He wasn't going to get anything from this guy. Akira leaned back in his seat, leaning back his head.

Takumi looked at the strange black-haired teen sitting in front of him. He looked really stressed out. "I promised Amaya that I'd take care of you, but I'd like to know who I'm taking care of first," the guy said. "I already told you," Takumi said. "Yeah, you told Amaya you magically appeared here out of thin air, now I'd like to know the truth, did you come here to ruin my life, or what?" he asked.

"I don't even know you, or Amaya, how am I supposed to just go along with this. Can you just take me home?" Takumi asked.

"Don't worry, I will as soon as I can," Akira said. Takumi was surprised at the anger in his voice. "Good," Takumi replied.
