This God

This God, this God, this God is now dead
we humans have killed him and now we forget
forget, forget, forget who we were
we think this is Heaven
when it's really Hell.

The boy, the boy, the boy's all alone
he's looking for his home but his home is gone
it's gone, it's gone, you better return
return back the long way
back where you belong.

My soul, my soul, just where is my soul?
I can't seem to find it, I think that it's lost
it's lost, it's lost, it's lost like this world
we can't seem to find peace
and everything's wrong.

A child, a child, a child cries out loud
his mom cannot feed him and he's gonna die
he'll die, he'll die, he'll die this same night
and no God will save him
as he is a lie.

This God, this God, this God is now dead
we humans have killed him and now we forget
forget, forget, forget who we were
we think this is Heaven
when it's really Hell.

A poem/song so good that I think it deserves its own spot. It has great rhythm, great rhymes, as well as being tightly structured (with a pattern of 8,11,9,6,5 in each verse). Definitely, DEFINITELY, one of the best things I've written in quite a long time.
