Chapter 1: Dare
"Truth or Dare is for pre-teen girls who are Bieber fans," I scoffed as I tossed my duffle into my locker.
Spencer broke off his conversation with one of my teammates and walked over to me. He crossed his arms over his chest and looked me square in the eye.
"Well then you go Dean," he shot back, "unless you don't have the balls to do it."
I yawned in a bored fashion. "Okay then," I replied, "Dare and it better be good."
Spencer turned away and thought about it for a while. The rest of the team had clustered around us, watching as Spencer prepared a dare good enough for me.
"Uh Spenc," I reminded him, "there's a game in about 20 minutes. Just freaking think of something!"
"Can't rush a good dare," he said. He paused in mid pace and turned back to face me.
"Got one," he announced, "I dare you to find one girl that you don't know in the stands and get her to kiss you before they announce the starting line up. Preferably from our side of course."
I folded my arms across my chest as I stared him down. There had to be more to it than just that.
"And if I don't find one?" I asked.
"Oh...I'll pick someone out for you," he offered casually, "probably not a dream girl by any stretch of the imagination but you'll get a kiss either way. Depends on how embarrassing it could get though."
The locker room became filled with whistles, cat calls, and nudges all around.
"This is going to be easy to see you lose," Spencer taunted as he got up in my face.
"Who says he's going to lose?" Ian, my friend, spoke up. "And if Dean completes your dumb dare, you've got to do one after. Deal?"
"Deal," Spencer uttered. "Scared Deanie?"
"Shut the Hell up," I growled as I brushed past him. "This is cake really. And you call this a freaking dare?"
"Getting a little hot under the jersey Deanie?" he taunted.
"You're on Prep School Dropout," I shot back as I entered the gym.
