Leanna as an embankment and Ophelia as a moat
Water is a wish;
washed from our mouths in a
tangle of tornadoes; words
wash clean to gunk of our minds;
Water is always wiser than us.
Leanna acts the part;
Ophelia in optical illusion,
lusting after the riverbed
like a lover,
the water calls to her in hollow
swallows as she gulps it, tried
to stay awake though it lulls
her into a dream; a scrap of paper
where her words lay nude in
a pink pen-script.
We don't remember the strange
times Leanna, just the normal ones.
