He sighed, slightly exasperated. "I never asked you to." He felt as if this conversation was a scene in the movie of his life that she kept playing over and over again. On some level though, he still cared for her. Maybe it was nostalgia or obligation, but something inside forced him to play out this scene again and again. Every time he hoped a slight change in his inflection or word choice would grant her some answers.
A/N: I think I may do another piece or two using these quotes because when I thought of them I kind of came up with a bunch of different scenes they could be involved in.
