Juniper practically skipped out of the small store, beaming at the thought of her new purchases as the automatic doors slid shut behind her. The saleswoman, a quaint middle-aged woman by the name of Dahlia, had introduced several new products to her. Juniper hummed to herself, the several shopping bags laced around her hands bouncing to a light beat as she did so. Suddenly, Juniper's eyes fell upon a quaint jewellery stand.
She absorbed the variety of coloured jewels, and the individual types of jewellery. Varying from simple string bracelets to edgy metal bracelets, chic bohemian necklaces to classy bejewelled necklaces, and delicate anklets to extravagant earrings, and rings.
Juniper smiled in delight at the display before her, and her eyes wandered to the face of the merchant that was selling the exquisite pieces; a wrinkly old woman dressed as freely as a gypsy.
"Hello sweetheart, may I interest you in some jewellery?" Juniper gave a small nod, and the middle-aged woman smiled.
"I'm guessing a pretty thing like you already has all the jewellery she needs already."
"There's no such thing as too much, but I will admit that I have a lot." The woman's smile grew wider.
"Perfect. Now see dear, the difference between your other, fine pieces of jewellery if I do say so myself" the woman remarked, casting glances at the necklace and earring combo Juniper had been wearing "is that these precious gems have been enchanted by both the Vila, and the Tmave Vila" A smile pressed against Juniper's lips, 'enchanting' was one of the most eye-catching, appealing words to her. It brought forth her attention every time; and the woman was well aware of it. The Vila were what the humans would refer to as 'fairies.' Fairies were actually myths created after the Vila, in an attempt to hide the truth. In fact, many of the magical creatures, and myths were false, only exterior names to allow the humans to create whatever story they wished to, merely treading farther from the truth.
"Yes, now it's up to you to decide whichever gem it is you wish to buy. Select three of them, but do so carefully because I will only tell you the secrets of those particular gems, and no other. Go ahead" the woman prompted. Juniper's eyes scanned the display, lingering on one piece of jewellery to the next, and she finally selected a special three.
A stylish lavender gemstone bracelet, the lilac jewels radiating elegant grace, and beauty. A pair of earrings with fiery orange stones that dangled inside of a silver loop. And a necklace with jewels that were amethyst purple on the left, and turquoise green on the right.
"Hmm, wow, isn't that strange. The three you chose all signify certain aspects of a type of person. The lavender bracelet reveals that the person has grace, and elegance, and she seems to be the type to be able to heal, and soothe another, almost like a nurturer. The earrings portray a second person that is wise, joyful, and energetic; but those are the properties of yellow since orange is a combination with the other. The person also holds a second side to them, just like the two combination colours. They're secretive, and this depends on the person themselves. Now the third person, because of the turquoise, they are cool, and calm, but mixed with the amethyst purple, they also seem to have a strong, rebellious side to them."
Juniper gazed at the three pieces of jewellery with a strange feeling bubbling in her chest, her thoughts were set to roam free and depicted a story in her fantasizing mind as the woman spoke.
"There you have it. Now, for you I'll make a special offer. Buy two, get one free!"
Author's Note
I know, it seems kind of pointless, but I'm just trying to introduce the characters right now, and show a sense of the different territories.
