Frosted Window

Sitting on the other side
Of the frosted window
I see images
That just don't exist
In real life

It's a relief
To know another world
Has taken a foothold
Inside my heart

I believe
Magic should come to life
In a world deprived of it
Such glorious madness

The truth seems crazier
To believe
Than the images
On the other side
Of the frosted window

Shouldn't people see
Everything that I know
They know they're missing?
Than a harsh reality?

Shouldn't life be more wonderful
Than what we've painted it to be?
Shouldn't we let the colors
Wander across the pages instead

Darkness
Seems to have won
And clouded
Everything we never saw
It's shadowed
Everything
We've grown to hate

The magic
Seems to glow
But fade
In the ignorance
We've so carelessly
Let go

The magic
Seems so beautiful
When I watch it
From the other side
Of the frosted window

I wish I could touch it
If only for a moment
Savor every second
When my fingertips
Pass through
To the other side
Of the frosted window

Life seems complex
To what fantasy
Seems to be
In the eyes
That stare
To the other side
Of the frosted window
