I Won't

I won't be who people want me to be

I refuse to pretend

The only person I will be is me

Whoever I offend

I will not be a puppet on a string

No one can control me

I won't be a bird, caged, and taught to sing

A cage couldn't hold me

I was taught to stand, to never back off

To always hold my ground

To raise my voice even if people scoff

And let none use my sound

I always stand up for those whom I care

Whether family or friend

It doesn't matter, you better beware

If you ever offend

So see me now as I stand before you

I am the one you see

There's nothing you could ever say or do

To possibly change me
