Marching to a beat I hear,

One that faints as I draw near,

To the world behind the door,

My foot falls short of the floor,

My tail tugs tight against my end,

But the doors wide open, so I pretend,

That I am free to take a step,

But I'm mistaken, and freeze mid-step,

The thump, thump stops inside my chest,

As I stand here, forever in rest.
