Ode to the Witless

Those without wit
Must settle for 'twit'
And nobody could commend them,
Yet dullards are fit
For any gambit,
And so history will defend them.

Written after going to a party, where guests were asked to write a 'witticism' in a large card which was left out for the duration of the gathering.
Does my poem reflect what I think of the card's recipient? In this case, yes. (although I didn't actually write it at the time :P )

It actually makes a passable doggerel, if you sing/recite it to the tune of 'Jack and Jill'
