-EDITED-

(Hey guys, I'm back after a very long hiatus and I'm very sorry about that. I've been a bit unhappy with my stories for a while because of grammar mistakes, plot problems and general disappointment with my work. I am now going to begin re-editing my first and favorite story. There will be some lay out changes and different dialogue as well as some more detail and maybe some new scenes. I would like to thank every single one of my reviewers who were with me all throughout this story. You are all the best! I hope you enjoy this new version of Learning to Love and the same to all the new readers who may come across this story.

Thank you x

Learning to Love

Chapter 1: Prologue

The wind was blowing gently outside. The soothing sound of rain pattering against the leaves of nearby trees and upon slates of the house's tiled roof. The window of my bedroom was open letting in the clean, earthy smell of a summer storm drift through the translucent drapes. My breathing came slow and my heart beat was soft. I sighed quietly and turned on my side, facing away from the window. My dark grey eyes met the soft brown ones of a handsome young man beside me. He was older than my seventeen years, definitely nineteen or twenty. He smelt of smoke and a hint of spice, nothing you'd find in any body wash. This was his unique scent.

'Are you ok?'

His voice was gentle but deep and he pulled me closer to him as I nodded in reply. I was encased in his body heat, the feeling of safety surrounded me. He wrapped an arm around my waist while the other carefully cradled my head, his fingers brushing softly through my dark brown locks. I lifted my hand up to his own hair that was shaggy and messy. I don't know how I got so attached to this person considering my unfortunate past but I am thankful that I have him in my life.
