A Blinkered Life

They say I go through
life with blinkers on, I've seen
nothing of the world

I say I live in
a world of blinkered people
They never see me

A little acknowledgement
Is it too much to ask for?

A haiku and a tanka, taken from my daily Twaiku feed

I must have invisibility shields which I unwittingly activate without realizing it, because in certain situations, people I know walk past me as though I don't exist. I'm not asking everyone to be my best friend. Is it too much to ask for people to look at me, to smile and nod before they keep walking? I'd return the favour, if they would just acknowledge that I exist.
