The tiger by the sea

Which sleek washes of striped colour

Turns with a gentle gaze

Then -

Suddenly savage

Easily angered

Digging blunted fangs into the sand

Lashing at the frontiers

As though they'd wreck the land

Moving rippling ribbon

A haze of passionate love

As fast as a rising falcon

When by mere chance they stall

With quiet elegance and grace

Suddenly make good

And reprieve once more

Towards its watery

Depths
