He saw her in a fragile state, knowing any suspicion of being cheated on again would send him away permanently. The quiet room grew deadly as he knew he needed to say something quick before her doubts allowed him no grace to speak.
"Who's Dianna?" she managed to say.
"Trust me, before your mind jumps to all these conclusions and triggers the assumptions of what you think your eyes see. Let me please explain… I will tell you everything."
He could see the hesitation on her face, struggling to believe him and at the same time feeling ashamed. He walked over to her and grabbed her hands and held them to his chest. Waiting for her answer his fear doubled.
"I'll listen…" she said cautiously.
He made sure to keep eye contact and a hold of her hands, afraid that if he lost connection and grip, she would shatter before him.
He explained vaguely of his adventure with a girl from the airport that happens to live in San Diego, he went on to describe the confused sentiments he had for Dianna as his friendship with Nicole abounded. Gavin ended his defense by confessing his new strong feelings for her and not with Dianna.
"Why didn't you mention her before if we were friends?" she questioned.
"I don't know… I was more prone to being there for you and not letting you in my mess. I didn't expect this to happen."
He shook her hands gently to let her know he was referring to their relationship.
"Good. I was afraid I might lose you or the perfect image I had of you," she said while letting out a sigh of relief.
"Will you still come with me?"
