Scarlett walked inside thinking about what she would possibly say to find out more about Nicole. Without making it obvious she was…well, the slightest bit jealous. Afterall, she was being replaced by a tall, thin, gorgeous model-like girl and Scarlett wasn't anything like her. Scarlett was short, around five feet three inches tall. She was thin, but not as thin as Nicole. Her hair wasn't long and she didn't have big round brown eyes. The insecurities began piling up and it seemed as if she wasn't going to be good enough for anyone as long as Nicole was in her school.

So, Scarlett went upstairs to change her clothes and calm down. She put on a pair of ripped skinny jeans and a navy blue tank top that was a little bit short so that her hip bones stuck out. And she waited.

What she thought was going to be ten minutes turned out to be a half an hour. But once she heard the doorbell she went down the stairs. James walked right in and she literally ran to him and once again jumped into his arms. They stood there though just making out in the foyer.

They stopped for a second and she looked at him confusedly, "Well…are we going upstairs?"

"If you want, I wasn't sure, considering you didn't speak to me much today." He said.

"Well you didn't speak to me either so I guess we're even." She said grinning.

He kissed her again and again and then he carried her back upstairs again.

A while later they were watching a movie when Scarlett asked him about Nicole.

"So, who's Nicole?" She asked.

He grinned.

"What?" Scarlett asked.

He kept grinning.

"Hello? Are you going to answer me or just stare?" She asked.

"You're jealous?" He asked.

"No." She said flatly "I just wanna know who kept you for so long. I don't wanna have to wait."

"Geez…" He said.

"What?"

"You make it sound like it's business or something."

"There is no feelings James! That's all it is. You wanted to do stuff, so did I, so we did! That's it!"

"She's from New York City, she moved to the Suburban parts recently. She's in my Forensic Science class and she's really nice and pretty. I'm considering asking her out on a date."

"Oh."Scarlett said.

"Yep, and she seems like she'll say yes." He said excitedly.

Scarlett pretended to be happy for him but she couldn't for that long. So instead she decided to make the most of the time left and basically jumped on top of him. He smiled and kissed her over and over and over. Her parents were working late tonight so they had the whole house to themselves until nine o'clock.

He left again, without asking her to be his. Making her feel even worse. He didn't kiss her on the cheek, this time she pulled him to the side and kissed him, a real kiss.

"Stay later." She said.

"I can't." James said. "Your parent's are coming."

She stood there, looking at the ground, her brown curly hair hung in front of her face.

"Scarlett, did the movie scare you?" He asked.

She nodded, although she was completely lying, a movie about axe murderers did not scare her in the slightest bit.

"Nobody's going to get you Scar." He said smiling.

So, she pretended to be happy and said "Well, if I die, it's your fault James."

He kissed her forehead, "You'll be fine Scarlett."

She closed her eyes and tried to smile. "You're right, I'll be fine."

She waved goodbye as he drove out of the drive way and walked back up to her room and grabbed anything to wear. She took a quick shower, got changed, skipped her homework, and went to bed. She listened to the rain outside of her window focusing on everything and anything other than what was going on in her mind.
